Paul Henry (painter)
Paul Henry (11 April 1876 – 24 August 1958) was an Irish artist noted for depicting the West of Ireland landscape in a spare Post-Impressionist style. Biography Henry was born at 61 University Road, Belfast, Ireland, the son of the Rev Robert Mitchell Henry, a Baptist minister (who later joined the Plymouth Brethren), and Kate Ann Berry. Henry began studying at Methodist College Belfast in 1882 where he first began drawing regularly. At the age of fifteen he moved to the Royal Belfast Academical Institution. He studied art at the Belfast School of Art before going to Paris in 1898 to study at the Académie Julian and at James McNeill Whistler, Whistler's Académie Carmen. He married the painter Grace Henry in 1903 and returned to Ireland in 1910. From then until 1919 he lived on Achill Island, where he learned to capture the peculiar interplay of light and landscape specific to the West of Ireland. Paul Henry (actor)
Paul Henry (born 1947) is an English actor, best known for his role as Benny Hawkins in the soap opera ''Crossroads''. Career Born in Aston, Birmingham, Henry attended the city's Alderlea Boys School in Shard End with Jeff Lynne. Henry trained at the Birmingham School of Speech and Drama, which was followed by eight years at the Birmingham Rep. Between 1975 and 1988, he played his best-known role of Benny Hawkins, a handyman in ''Crossroads''. In 1977, Henry recorded "Benny's Theme" with the Mayson Glen Orchestra for Pye Records. It peaked at no. 39 in the UK Singles Chart in January 1978. He was in character as Benny in the song, but spoke rather than sang. Henry made a guest appearance on the Central Television game show ''Bullseye'', presented by Jim Bowen, on 11 February, 1985. He scored 215 and raised £215 for charity. Paul Nicholas Henry (born 28 January 1988) is an English footballer who plays for Marine. He previously played in the Football League for Tranmere Rovers. Career Henry signed his second professional contract with Tranmere Rovers in July 2007 after captaining the reserves. The youngster, who is the nephew of former Rovers midfielder Nick Henry, is able to play in the centre of midfield or defence and was an unused substitute three times in 2007–08. He made his first appearance for the first team as a substitute during a 0–0 draw with Doncaster Rovers in November 2007 and made his first start against Luton Town a month later. This is a list of cricketers who have played first-class, List A or Twenty20 cricket for the Otago cricket team. Otago played its first representative match in January 1864 against Southland, before playing the first match in New Zealand which is considered to be first-class later in the same month, a fixture against Canterbury. Paul Henry (b. Aberystwyth, 1959) is a Welsh poet, songwriter and broadcaster. His poetry collection ''Boy Running'' was shortlisted for the Wales Book of the Year award in 2016. Biography Starting out as a singer-songwriter, Henry's first collection ''Time Pieces'' was published by Seren Press in 1991, winning a Gregory Award. In 1992, he attended Joseph Brodsky's poetry masterclass at the Hay Festival, since which time a further eight books have appeared. His poems have been widely anthologised and can be found in journals such as ''Poetry Review'' and ''The Times Literary Supplement''. They have also featured on BBC Radio 4's ''Poetry Please''. Paul Henry Hopes (born 4 August 1960), known professionally as Paul Henry, is a New Zealand radio and television broadcaster who was the host of the late night show ''The Paul Henry Show'' on New Zealand's TV3 which ended December 2014 so that Henry could host a new cross platform three-hour breakfast show Monday to Friday on TV3, RadioLive and on line. ''Paul Henry'' launched on 7 April 2015 and initially had an audience larger than the two shows it replaced on radio and TV.
