Paul Gallagher (footballer)
Paul Gallagher (born 8 September 1984) is a Scottish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Born in Glasgow, he played in the Premier League for Blackburn Rovers, and the Football League for Stoke City (two spells), Preston North End (four spells), Plymouth Argyle, Leicester City and Sheffield United. He scored 100 senior career goals in over 500 games and was capped once by the Scotland national team. Club career Blackburn Rovers Gallagher made his debut performance as a substitute in a 2–0 win over the 2001–02 Premier League champions Arsenal on 15 March 2003, as a replacement for Dwight Yorke. He scored his first goal in a 4–0 win over Birmingham City in the 2003–04 season. On 21 February 2004, in an away game against Charlton Athletic, Gallagher assisted goalkeeper Brad Friedel to his only career goal from open play in the 90th minute. Paul Gallagher (barrister)
Paul Gallagher SC (born 20 March 1955) is an Irish barrister who was Attorney General of Ireland from 2007 to 2011 and again between 2020 and 2022. During his first term as Attorney General, there was a period of significant economic difficulty in the Republic of Ireland, causing him to advise on the bank guarantee scheme, the establishment of the National Asset Management Agency and the Troika programme. He has led a successful career as a barrister outside of Government. He has frequently appeared in the Irish courts on matters involving commercial and constitutional law. Early life and education Gallagher was born in Tralee in 1955 and grew up in Day Place. He received his primary education at CBS Tralee and secondary education at Castleknock College. Paul Richard Gallagher, (born 23 January 1954) is an English prelate of the Catholic Church who has been Secretary for Relations with States within the Holy See's Secretariat of State since November 2014. He has worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See since 1984 and held the rank of archbishop and apostolic nuncio since 2004, serving as nuncio in Burundi, Guatemala, and Australia. Paul Gallagher (born 16 October 1944) is a retired British trade union leader. Gallagher grew up in Droylsden, Manchester, England. He began working for the Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications and Plumbing Union (EETPU), and in 1986 was elected union president.
