Paul Fowler
Paul Albert Fowler (born 12 June 1954) is a former English cricketer. Fowler was a left-handed batsman. He was born in Wigan, Lancashire. Fowler made his debut for Oxfordshire in the 1978 Minor Counties Championship against Wiltshire. Fowler played Minor counties cricket for Oxfordshire from 1978 to 1987, which included 47 Minor Counties Championship matches and 4 MCCA Knockout Trophy matches. He made his List A debut against Glamorgan in the 1981 NatWest Trophy. He played 3 further List A matches, the last coming against Leicesteshire in the 1987 NatWest Trophy. In his 4 List A matches, he scored 137 runs at a batting average of 34.25, with a single century high score of 119. Wigan
Wigan ( ) is a large town in Greater Manchester, England, on the River Douglas, Lancashire, River Douglas. Leicestershire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Leicestershire. It has also been representative of the county of Rutland. The club's limited overs team is called the Leicestershire Foxes. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The 1983 NatWest Trophy was an English limited overs county cricket tournament which was held between 29 June and 3 September 1983. The third NatWest Trophy competition, it was won by Somerset who defeated Kent by 24 runs in the final at Lord's. Format The seventeen first-class counties were joined by thirteen Minor Counties. This was a change from the previous versions of the competition, where only five Minor Counties were permitted to take part. The Minor Counties taking part were: Berkshire, Cambridgeshire, Cheshire, Devon, Dorset, Durham, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Suffolk and Wiltshire.
