Paul Ferris (composer)
Richard Paul Ferris (2 May 1941 – 30 October 1995) was an English composer and actor. Born in Corby, Northamptonshire, England, Ferris provided scores for various low budget British horror films during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Career Ferris began made a few acting appearances from 1961 such as ''Dixon of Dock Green'' and the 1964 comedy film ''Rattle of a Simple Man''. In 1965 he was seen as John Mannering's sidekick David Marlowe in '' The Baron'' before his character was replaced by Sue Lloyd at the insistence of American television executives. He briefly appeared in the 1967 James Bond spoof '' Casino Royale'' as one of Vesper Lynd's business staff. As a songwriter, Ferris wrote Cliff Richard's 1966 number 7 UK hit " Visions" and The Shadows' 1967 number 24 UK hit "Maroc 7" from the film of the same name. Paul Ferris (born 10 July 1965) is a Northern Irish former footballer, physiotherapist for Newcastle United, barrister and author. Biography Ferris was born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. In 1981, he signed for Newcastle United from Lisburn Youth in Northern Ireland and became the club's youngest ever debutant when he appeared aged just 16 years and 294 days. He scored his only senior goal against Bradford City in 1984. A medial ligament injury meant he played just 14 matches and moved to Barrow F.C., with whom he won the FA Trophy at Wembley before moving into local non-league football with Gateshead. In 1993, he returned as physio under Kevin Keegan. He remained there until 2006, during which time he gained a master's degree in History of Ideas. He also studied law before leaving to pursue a career as a barrister and was called to the bar at the Middle Temple in 2007. Paul Ferris (Scottish Writer)
Paul John Ferris (born 10 November 1963) is a Scottish author and organised crime figure. Ferris was an enforcer for Glasgow 'Godfather' Arthur Thompson in the early 1980s. Known for his ruthlessness and extreme violence, he rose to a prominent position in the city's criminal underworld. He served a prison sentence for weapons possession in 1984 and believed he had been betrayed by the Thompsons. In 1991 Thompson's son, Arthur Jr, was shot dead. Ferris was charged with his murder and subsequently found not guilty after what was the longest criminal trial in Scottish history at that time. He was imprisoned again from 1998 to 2002 for trading in firearms and possessing explosives. Ferris was also involved in a long-running feud with Tam McGraw. His first book was published in 2001 while he was in prison. Since his release he has written three more books about crime, and has been involved in the security industry.
