Paul Crowley (footballer)
Paul Crowley, (born 13 August 1980) is an Irish Association football, footballer who last played with League of Ireland side Drogheda United F.C., Drogheda United. Crowley plays as a defensive midfielder. Career Shamrock Rovers Crowley started his career in 1997, for Mick Byrne (Irish footballer), Mick Byrne's Shamrock Rovers. Crowley found his chances extremely limited was confined to the fringes of the team. Dublin City Crowley joined First Division side, Dublin City in 2000, in the hope of finding more football. He ended up staying with the Vikings for five years and establishing himself as a quality player. In 2003, he won his first ever silverware, as Dublin won the First Division. After a brief spell at Waterford United, Crowley returned to Dublin in 2006. In his first season back, Dublin City did not renew their licence and subsequently folded. The 2012 League of Ireland Cup, also known as the 2012 EA Sports Cup, is the 39th season of the Irish football knockout competition. A total of 22 teams entered the 2012 competition. The League of Ireland Cup ( ga, Corn Sraithe na hÉireann), also referred to in Ireland as the 'League Cup', is an annual knockout competition in men's football in the Republic of Ireland. It is contested by League of Ireland clubs and invited clubs from the lower levels of the Republic of Ireland football league system. It has been sponsored by Electronic Arts and branded the EA Sports Cup since 2009. The competition began in 1973–74, replacing the League of Ireland Shield and the Dublin City Cup. It has had several formats since its inception and has been a knock-out competition since 2005. As there is no European qualification for winners of the League of Ireland Cup, it has a lower status than the FAI Cup and is therefore seen as the third most important trophy in the Irish playing season. The Leinster Senior Cup is an association football cup competition organized by the Leinster Football Association.
