Paul Biligha
Paul Stephane Lionel Biligha (born 31 May 1990) is an Cameroonian-Italian professional basketball player for Olimpia Milano of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA) and the EuroLeague. Standing at 2.00 m (6 ft. 7 in.), he plays at the center position. Professional career Biligha was born in Perugia, Italy in 1990 into a family of Italian and Cameroonian heritage. He started playing in Cameroon where he lived from the age of 8 to 16. Once back in Italy, he grew as a basketball player in the Florence youth team and later Casalpusterlengo, Verolanuova, Crema and Pavia. In summer 2012 Biligha signed with Sidigas Avellino in LBA, where he stayed for two seasons. In 2014 went to Basket Ferentino in Serie A2 Basket. On 26 June 2015 Biligha returned in LBA with a two-year contract with Vanoli Cremona. In July 2017 he became a player of 2017 Italian League champions, Umana Reyer Venezia. The center (C), or the centre, also known as the five or the pivot, is one of the five Basketball position, positions in a regulation basketball game. EuroBasket 2017
EuroBasket 2017 was the 40th edition of the EuroBasket championship that was organized by FIBA Europe and held between 31 August and 17 September 2017. Beginning from 2017, the continental championships take place every four years with a similar system of qualification as for the FIBA Basketball World Cup. Like the previous edition, the tournament was co-hosted by four countries. Games in the group stage were held in Turkey, Finland, Israel and Romania. The 2016–17 LBA season, was the 95th season of the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA), known for sponsorship reasons as the Serie A PosteMobile, the highest-tier level professional basketball league in Italy. The regular season started on 2 October 2016 and finished on 7 May 2017, with the playoffs started on 12 May (dependent on an Italian club qualifying for the 2017 EuroLeague Final Four or for the 2017 Champions League Playoffs) and finished between 16 and 22 June depending on results. Serie A2, known for sponsorship reasons as Serie A2 Old Wild West, is a men's basketball league in Italy. It constitutes the second-tier of the Italian league pyramid, below the first division LBA and above the third division Serie B, with promotion/relegation occurring between these leagues. It is run by the Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro (LNP), itself regulated by the FIP, the Italian federation. Names History The league was created in May 1974, by the Lega Basket, the organisation in charge of running the LBA (to this day), that decided to create a new second division with 10 clubs. S.S. Felice Scandone was an Italian professional basketball club based in Avellino, Campania. Founded in 1948, the team has been a regular in the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA), the first tier of basketball in Italy, for 19 years (2000/01 to 2018/19).
