Paul Affleck
Paul Affleck (born 25 June 1966) is a Welsh professional golfer who has played on the European Tour. Affleck was born in St Asaph. He turned pro in 1986. He visited qualifying school four times before he finally got his European Tour card after winning the Challenge Tour in 1992. He won the 1992 Audi Open on the Challenge Tour. He had to go back to qualifying school but he regained his card. He held onto it until 2000 where he finished 141st on the Order of Merit. Affleck lives in Chester, England. St Asaph (; cy, Llanelwy "church on the Elwy") is a City status in the United Kingdom, city and community (Wales), community on the River Elwy in Denbighshire, Wales. Sven Strüver
Sven Strüver (born 9 August 1967) is a German professional golfer. Early life and professional career Strüver was born in Bremen. In the 1989 German Open, he shot a 62 in the second round to set a new record for the lowest round by an amateur in a European Tour event. The record was equalled by Shane Lowry in the 2009 Irish Open. After reaching the final in the 1990 Spanish International Amateur Championship, losing to Darren Clarke, Strüver turned professional in and won the German PGA Championship that year. He joined the European Tour in 1992, and reached his peak during the mid to late 1990s, when he won three tournaments and consistently finished inside the top 50 on the Order of Merit. His best season was 1998, when he captured the Canon European Masters and finished 13th on the Order of Merit having missed just two cuts all season. The 1996 Dunhill Cup was the 12th Dunhill Cup. It was a team tournament featuring 16 countries, each represented by three players. The Cup was played 10–13 October at the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland. The sponsor was the Alfred Dunhill company. The American team of Phil Mickelson, Mark O'Meara, and Steve Stricker beat the team from New Zealand of Frank Nobilo, Greg Turner, and Grant Waite in the final. Alfred Dunhill Cup
The Alfred Dunhill Cup was a team golf tournament which ran from 1985 to 2000, sponsored by Alfred Dunhill Ltd. It was for three-man teams of professional golfers, one team representing each country, and was promoted as the "World Team Championship". It was a "special approved event" on the European Tour, which means that it was supported by the Tour, but the prize money did not count towards the Tour's Order of Merit. The host course was the Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland.
