Paul 'Trouble' Anderson
Paul 'Trouble' Anderson (28 September 1959 – 2 December 2018) was a British DJ, playing soul, disco, funk, and house music and known for his long-running Kiss FM show. He worked as a dance music DJ in clubs from 1979 until his death in 2018. He produced a number of mix albums and remixed records by other artists. Biography Anderson was born in East London. In 1985 he helped found Kiss FM, the UK's first legal dance music radio station, with Gordon Mac. From 1990 to 1998 he hosted a prime time Saturday Kiss FM show from 9 to 11 pm. Eightball Records is an American independent record label established 1990 in New York City by Alex Kaplan, DJ Smash, and A&R head Kevin Williams. It played an important role in the development of house music, techno, and deep house in the 1990s. History Eightball was formed 1990 Wayne Hunter and Alex Kaplan in New York City. Originally a vinyl store, it specialized in recording and selling many dance and house music records. It later became an official recording label. Kaplan hired Kevin Williams and John Creamer as the label's A&Rs, and Serebe Kironde as the General Manager. Greg Wilson (born 1960) is an English DJ and producer associated with both the early 1980s electro scene in Manchester and the current disco/re-edit movement. He is also a writer/commentator on dance music and popular culture. Career 1975–1980 Growing up in New Brighton on Merseyside, Wilson lived above his family's pub during the years 1966–1973. The premises included two function rooms where he'd witness mobile discos featuring on a weekly basis at wedding receptions and parties. His main musical influences came from the record collections of his elder brother and sister, especially the soul music labels Tamla Motown, Stax and Atlantic. Wilson began his career as a DJ in 1975 at the age of 15, having bought a mobile set-up from his schoolfriend Derek Kelsey (later known as DJ Derek Kaye). Prime time or the peak time is the block of broadcast programming taking place during the middle of the evening for a television show. It is mostly targeted towards adults (and sometimes families).
