Paudie Kehoe
Paudie Kehoe (born 1990) is an Irish hurler who plays as a left corner-forward for the Carlow senior team. Kehoe made his first appearance for the team during the 2009 Christy Ring Cup and has become a regular member of the starting fifteen since then. During that time he has won one Christy Ring Cup medal. At the club level, Kehoe has won four county championship medal with St Mullin's. The Carlow County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Luthchleas Gael Coiste Ceatharlach) or Carlow GAA is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Carlow and the Carlow county teams. Hurling ( ga, iománaíocht, ') is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic Irish origin, played by men. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games, it shares a number of features with Gaelic football, such as the field and goals, the number of players and much terminology. The same game played by women is called camogie ('), which shares a common Gaelic root. The objective of the game is for players to use an ash wood stick called a hurley (in Irish a ', pronounced or ) to hit a small ball called a ' between the opponent's goalposts either over the crossbar for one point or under the crossbar into a net guarded by a goalkeeper for three points. 2009 Christy Ring Cup
The 2009 Christy Ring Cup is the 5th annual second-tier hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. Eight county teams participate in the competition. The teams are Carlow, Derry, Down, Kerry, Mayo, Kildare, Westmeath and Wicklow. The winning team was promoted to the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship 2010 and played for the Liam MacCarthy Cup. Christy Ring Cup
The Christy Ring Cup () is an annual hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. Originally introduced as a second-tier competition, it is currently the third tier overall in the inter-county hurling championship system. Each year, the champions of the Christy Ring Cup are promoted to the Joe McDonagh Cup, and the lowest finishing team is relegated to the Nicky Rackard Cup. Kildare are the 2022 title-holders. The Carlow Senior Hurling Championship is an annual hurling competition contested by top-tier Carlow GAA clubs. Mount Leinster Rangers are the title holders (2020) defeating Ballinkillen in the Final. History Since 1927, with the exception of the 'foot and mouth' year of 1941, a 'Premier' Carlow Hurling Championship has been completed. The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Edward "Eddie" Coady (born 1978) is an Irish hurler who plays as a left corner-forward for the Carlow senior team. Coady made his first appearance for the team during the 1999 National League and has become a regular member of the starting fifteen since then.
