Alice Patten
Alice Patten is an English actress, and the daughter of Chris Patten, Baron Patten of Barnes, a prominent British Conservative politician and the last Governor of Hong Kong. She has played a key role in the Bollywood film ''Rang De Basanti'' (2006). Her role earned her praise from film critics in India. She lived in Hong Kong from 1992 to 1997. Jack Patten
John Thomas Patten (27 March 1905 – 12 October 1957) was an Aboriginal Australian civil rights activist and journalist. Biography John Patten was born in 1905 to John James Patten and Christina Mary Patten, née Middleton, at Cummeragunja Reserve, an Aboriginal reserve in New South Wales. Patten was educated at public schools in Tumbarumba and West Wyalong, and attended high school at West Wyalong. Following high school, Patten was unsuccessful in joining the Navy and worked for the Sydney Municipal Council. To make ends meet he occasionally worked as a boxer. While boxing at Casino in 1931, Patten married Selina Avery. During the 1930s he became an experienced organiser and public speaker, speaking regularly on Aboriginal rights at the Domain on Sunday afternoons, along with other Aboriginal activists such as Pearl Gibbs and Tom Foster. Thelma Adele Patten Law (December 30, 1900 - November 12, 1968) was an American physician. Patten Law practiced medicine in Houston, Texas. She was involved in helping to improve the health outcomes of African Americans and the poor living in Houston. She was the first African American woman admitted to the Harris County Medical Society. Simon Nelson Patten (May 1, 1852 – July 24, 1922) was an economist and the chair of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Patten was one of the first economists to posit a shift from an 'economics of scarcity' to an ' economics of abundance'; that is, he believed that soon there would be enough wealth to satisfy people's basic needs and that the economy would shift from an emphasis on production to consumption. Richard Patten
Richard Andrew Patten (May 13, 1942 – December 30, 2021) was a Canadian politician. Patten was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1987 to 1990 and again from 1995 to 2007. He represented the riding of Ottawa Centre. He served as a cabinet minister in the government of David Peterson. Personal life Patten was educated at Sir George Williams University in Montreal. He worked as a manager with the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA), and served as President of the ''Canadian Council for International Cooperation''. Sir Nicholas John Patten (born 7 August 1950) is a former member of the Court of Appeal of England and Wales. Education Tulse Hill School, Tulse Hill Comprehensive School for boys; Christ Church, Oxford. Career Patten was called to the bar (Lincoln's Inn) in 1974 and made a Bencher in 1997. He became a Queen's Counsel in 1988. He was appointed a Deputy High Court judge in 1998. On 2 October 2000, he was appointed to the High Court of Justice, receiving the customary knight bachelor, knighthood, and was assigned to the High Court of Justice#Chancery Division, Chancery Division. He served as Vice-Chancellor of the County Palatine of Lancaster from 2005 to 2008. On 8 June 2009, Patten became a Lord Justice of Appeal, and received the customary appointment to the Privy Council of the United Kingdom, Privy Council the same year. Matt Patten (born June 16, 1977) is a Democratic Party (United States), Democratic politician who served in the Ohio House of Representatives. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Patten was a labor organizer before beginning a career in the political sector. When Representative Tom Patton gave up another term in the House to run for the Ohio Senate, Patten ran for his seat. It was thought that Patten would run against term limited Senator Robert Spada, but an appointment given to Spada by Ohio Governor Ted Strickland changed the favorite of the race. Mark Patten (28 July 1901 – 2 May 1996) was a Scottish first-class cricketer. Patten was born in the West End of Edinburgh in July 1901. He was educated at Winchester College, before going up to Christ Church, Oxford. While studying at Oxford he made his debut in first-class cricket for Oxford University against Middlesex at Oxford in 1922. Patten played first-class cricket for Oxford on seventeen further occasions, with his final appearance coming in 1923. Playing as a wicket-keeper he scored 169 runs and took 26 catches and made two stumpings. In addition to playing first-class cricket for Oxford University, he also represented Scotland in four first-class matches between 1922 and 1925, as well as appearing in four first-class matches for the Free Foresters between 1926 and 1929; for the latter he scored 178 runs at an average of 35.60, with a high score of 58, one of two half centuries he made for the Free Foresters. Luke "The General" Patten (born 9 January 1980) is a former professional rugby league footballer and NRL match official. A Junior Kanaroo and Country New South Wales representative he played for the Illawarra Steelers, St George Illawarra Dragons and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Australia and the Salford City Reds in the Super League.
