Patsy Lee Parsons
Patricia Parsons (June 9, 1931 – October 26, 2006) was an American character actress who appeared in about a dozen films beginning in 1937. She was sometimes credited as Patsy Lee Parsons. Biography Parsons's appearance in a benefit show at Madison Square Garden led to a contract with RKO Pictures. She began acting at age 6, and mostly did child roles, notably in ''Yankee Doodle Dandy'' (1942). But she is perhaps best remembered for one of her few adult roles, as the evil space tyrant "Cleolanta" on the TV show ''Rocky Jones, Space Ranger'' in 1954. Like many former child stars, Parsons had difficulty finding good adult roles. Patsey Parsons
Patsey (ca. 1830–after 1863) was an African-American enslaved woman. Solomon Northup wrote about her in his book ''Twelve Years a Slave'', which is the source for most of the information known about her. There have been two adaptations of the book in film, ''Solomon Northup's Odyssey'' in 1984 and the better known '' 12 Years a Slave'', in 2013. In the latter Patsey was portrayed by Lupita Nyong'o, who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance. Life Patsey's mother was said to have been from Guinea, enslaved and taken to Cuba. She was then sold to a family named Buford in the Southern United States. Patsey is believed to have been born around 1830, in South Carolina. In 1843, when she was 13, she was sold to Edwin Epps in Louisiana. According to Northup, Edwin Epps had "repulsive and coarse" manners and did not have a sense "of kindness or of justice." ''Manhunt in Space'' is a 75-minute 1954 American science fiction film, consisting of three consecutive episodes of the TV series ''Rocky Jones, Space Ranger'', which told a continuous story. It was released only on 16mm for home movie rental and television syndication. It was directed by Hollingsworth Morse. The film is now in the public domain. The Caddy
