Patrouille Des Glaciers
The Patrouille des Glaciers (PDG) is a ski mountaineering race organised every two years by the Swiss Armed Forces, in which military and civilian teams compete. It takes place once every two years at the end of April, in the south part of the canton of Valais below the summits of the Pennine Alps. The Patrouille des Glaciers is a stage of La Grande Course that includes the most important ski mountaineering competitions of the season. There are two different races, a normal and a short one: *Zermatt – Arolla – Verbier: 53 kilometres, altitude difference +3994m and – 4090m. This is equivalent to 110 km without altitude difference. *Arolla – Verbier: 27 kilometres, altitude difference +1881m and – 2341m. This is equivalent to 53 km without altitude difference. Michele Boscacci
Michele Boscacci (born 4 January 1990) is an Italian ski mountaineer. Boscacci, son of Graziano Boscacci, was born in Sondalo, and started skiing when he was five years old. In 2004 he competed at his first Pierra Menta race, when he was fourteen years old. A few years later he became a member of the national youth team. He is a member of the ''Polisportiva Albosaggia''. The Rosablanche is a mountain of the Swiss Pennine Alps, overlooking the Lac des Dix in the canton of Valais. Schönbiel Hut
The Schönbiel Hut (German: ''Schönbielhütte'') is a mountain hut located north of the Matterhorn. It is situated at above sea level, north of the Zmutt Glacier, a few kilometers west of the town of Zermatt in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. The actual hut was built by the Swiss Alpine Club in 1955, after the demolition of an older hut, built in 1909. The hut is accessible to hikers, from the cable car station of Schwarzsee with a marked trail.
