Patriks Gailums
Patriks Gailums (born 10 May 1998) is a Latvian javelin thrower. He was the silver medalist at the 2022 European Throwing Cup, and he is a four-time medalist at the Latvian Athletics Championships. Career 2013–2018 In July 2013, Gailums won bronze in the javelin throw at the European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in Utrecht with a throw of 65.73 meters. Two years later, he finished in 11th place at the World U18 Championships in Cali with a throw of 66.75 meters. In July 2016, Gailums set a new personal best of 74.02 meters in the qualifiers at the World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz. However, in the final, he did not reach the same level and finished in 11th place with a throw of 66.84 meters. 2016 World U20 Championships In Athletics
The 2016 IAAF World Junior Championships in Athletics, World U20 Championships in Athletics was an international athletics competition for athletes qualifying as juniors (born no earlier than 1 January 1997) which was held at Zdzisław Krzyszkowiak Stadium in Bydgoszcz, Poland on 19–24 July 2016. It was the first time the competition had been held under the new name, having previously been known as World Junior Championships in Athletics. The championships were originally awarded to Kazan, Russia before the hosting rights were withdrawn as a result of All-Russia Athletic Federation#Doping allegations, ARAF being suspended by the International Association of Athletics Federations, IAAF. Jelgava (; german: Mitau, ; see also other names) is a state city in central Latvia about southwest of Riga with 55,972 inhabitants (2019). 2022 World Athletics Championships
The 2022 World Athletics Championships was the eighteenth edition of the World Athletics Championships. It was held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, United States, from July 15–24, 2022, with the country hosting that competition for the first time. The competition was originally scheduled for August 6–15, 2021, but it was postponed by one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, World Athletics banned all Russian and Belarusian athletes and officials from participating at the championships.
