Patrick Walsh (Wisconsin Politician)
Patrick Walsh (22 July 1830 – 19 March 1888) was a notable American farmer who dedicated himself to public service, serving two terms as a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Senate and a year as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Milwaukee County. Early life Hailing from Ireland, Walsh's journey began on Irish soil. He secured election to the Wisconsin State Senate for the years 1858 and 1859, representing the Sixth District, which encompassed the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 8th Wards of the City of Milwaukee, along with the Towns of Franklin, Greenfield, Lake, Oak Creek and Wauwatosa. Henry Edgar Roethe (May 1866 – August 16, 1939) was an American politician and newspaper editor who was a Republican candidate for governor of Wisconsin in 1914. Early life and education Born in Whitewater, Wisconsin, Roethe attended Whitewater Normal State School. Career Roethe moved to Fennimore, Wisconsin, where he bought and published a newspaper. Hales Corners, Wisconsin
Hales Corners is a village in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 7,692 at the 2010 census. History The land in the area that would eventually encompass the Village was first claimed as French, then British, and eventually as the Northwest Territory of the United States in 1783. It was the land of the Potawatomi Indians until they were forced to move from their land in 1838. They were the dominant tribe in southeast Wisconsin with large villages. Like the Europeans that arrived later, they planted crops, but theirs were beans, squash, and corn.
