Patrick Reid (Medal Of Honor)
Patrick Reid (June 17, 1875 – October 23, 1924) was a United States Navy sailor and a recipient of the United States military's highest decoration, the Medal of Honor. Biography Reid was born on June 17, 1875, in Dublin, Ireland. He joined the U.S. Navy from New York (state), New York in 1895 and by September 8, 1910, was serving as a Chief Petty Officer, chief watertender on the . On that day, while the ''North Dakota'' was conducting tests using oil as fuel, an explosion occurred, killing three sailors and endangering the ship. The United States Army Center of Military History (CMH) is a directorate within the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command. The Institute of Heraldry remains within the Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army.
