Patrick Quinlan is an American author, political activist, fundraiser, and briefly, a Maine Green Independent Party, Green Independent candidate for Governor of Maine in the Maine gubernatorial election, 2010, 2010 election. In the fall of 2009, he informed the Maine Ethics Commission that he was no longer seeking election. Biography Quinlan was born in the Bronx and raised both there and in Yonkers, New York. He attended public elementary and middle schools, and Regis High School (New York City), Regis High School, a tuition-free Jesuit high school in Manhattan. As a teenager, he held numerous jobs, including working for years as a caddie. His father was an alcoholic, which had a profound effect on Quinlan's development as a child and young man. Patrick Quinlan (cricketer)
Patrick Francis Quinlan (17 March 1891 – 15 August 1935) was an Australian cricketer and lawyer. The son of Timothy Quinlan, an Irish-born politician, Quinlan was educated in Ireland where he played cricket for Dublin University Cricket Club, Dublin University and Ireland cricket team, Ireland. He returned to Western Australia in 1920 to practise law, and also played several cricket matches for the Western Australia cricket team. He died in 1935 after a long illness. Career Quinlan was born on 17 March 1891 in Perth, Western Australia, to Timothy Quinlan, Timothy Francis Quinlan and Teresa Connor. His father had served as Speaker of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly, Speaker of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly, while his maternal grandfather, Daniel Connor, was a noted businessman. Patrick Quinlan (politician)
Patrick Michael Quinlan (7 December 1919 – 8 November 2001) was an Irish academic and member of Seanad Éireann from 1957 to 1977. He was born near Kilfinane, County Limerick on 7 December 1919, to farmer Jeremiah Quinlan and his wife, Josephine (née Casey). He was educated at CBS Charleville School, County Cork, and at St Munchin's College in Limerick. In 1938, he attended University College Cork (UCC), where he studied civil engineering. He continued his studies at UCC in mathematical science, graduating with a B.Sc. (1942) and M.Sc. (1943). He completed his PhD at California Institute of Technology in 1949. He was professor of mathematical physics at University College Cork. He was a member of the governing body of UCC, and a fellow of the Institute of Advanced Studies from 1971. Pat Quinlan (Irish Army Officer)
Patrick Quinlan (1919–1997) was an Irish Army officer who commanded the Irish UN force that fought at the Siege of Jadotville in Katanga in 1961, and surrendered when they ran out of ammunition and other supplies. Despite the initial lack of recognition for the events leading up to the surrender, in the years following Quinlan's death his reputation in Ireland was restored. Early life and family Pat Quinlan was born in 1919 in Reeneragh, Caherdaniel, County Kerry, and went to school in nearby Loher. He and his wife Carmel had a son Leo, who was 16 when his father served in the Congo, and later became a commandant, the same rank his father held when in Katanga (although the father retired with the higher rank of colonel).
