Patrick O'Connor (hurler)
Patrick O'Connor (born 6 February 1991) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Tubber and was a member of the Clare senior inter-county team from 2011 until he retired form inter-county hurling in 2022. He made his Championship debut for Clare against Tipperary in the 2011 Munster Senior Hurling Championship on 19 July 2011. Tubber GAA
Tubber GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Tubber, County Clare, Tubber, County Clare, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club is primarily concerned with the game of hurling. History Located near the village of Tubber, County Clare, Tubber, County Clare and overlooking the Burren, Tubber GAA Club affiliated to the Clare GAA, Clare County Board in 1885. The club fielded teams in both hurling and Gaelic football in the early years, however, emigration and political tensions resulted in the Tubber club stagnating for almost 35 years. There was a revival in 1923, when Gaelic football was abandoned, and the club contested several Clare Junior Hurling Championship, Clare JHC finals without success. Tubber regraded to the intermediate ranks in 1937 and claimed the Clare Intermediate Hurling Championship, Clare IHC on its first attempt. National Hurling League
The National Hurling League is an annual Inter county, inter-county hurling competition featuring teams from Ireland and England. Founded in 1925 by the Gaelic Athletic Association, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation within the league system. The league has 35 teams divided into six divisions, with either five or six teams in each division. Promotion and relegation between these divisions is a central feature of the league. Although primarily a competition for Irish teams, teams from England – currently Lancashire GAA, Lancashire, London GAA, London and Warwickshire GAA, Warwickshire – also take part, while in the past New York GAA, New York also fielded a team for the latter stages of the league. Teams representing subdivisions of counties, such as Fingal GAA, Fingal and Down GAA, South Down have also participated at various times. The Munster GAA Hurling Under-20 Championship, known simply as the Munster Under-20 Championship, is an annual inter-county hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). It is the highest inter-county hurling competition for male players between the ages of 17 and 20 in the province of Munster. The championship was contested as the Munster Under-21 Championship between 1964 and 2018 before changing to an under-20 age category from 2019. It is sponsored by Bord Gáis Energy. The final, currently held in July, serves as the culmination of a series of games played during a three-week period, and the results determine which team receives the J. J. The 2009 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 46th staging of the All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964. The championship began on 20 May 2009 and ended on 13 September 2009. Kilkenny entered the championship as the defending champions. On 13 September 2009, Clare won the championship following a 0-15 to 0-14 defeat of Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final. This was their first All-Ireland title in the under-21 grade. The 2016 National Hurling League was the 85th season of the National Hurling League for inter-county hurling teams since its establishment in 1925. The fixtures were announced on 16 November 2015. The season began on 13 February 2016, and finished on 8 May 2016. Waterford came into the season as defending champions of the 2015 season. Kerry entered Division 1 as the promoted team from the 2015 season. Clare won the title for the first time since 1978 after a 1-23 to 2-19 win against Waterford in a replay. The 2013 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 126th staging of the All-Ireland championship since its establishment in 1887. The draw for the 2013 fixtures took place on 4 October 2012. The championship began on 5 May 2013 and ended on 28 September 2013 with Clare winning their fourth All Ireland title after a 5–16 to 3–16 win against Cork in the replayed final. Munster Technological University Cork GAA club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the Munster Technological University in Bishopstown, Cork, Ireland. The club fields teams in a range of competitions in both hurling and Gaelic football. History Gaelic games were first played at the then Cork Regional Technical College when a student Gaelic football team was established in 1975. A student hurling team was set up the following year. The staff of the RTC Cork also had an active GAA club, and competed in various inter-firm hurling and football competitions. In 1995, Cork RTC made their debuts in the Fitzgibbon Cup and Sigerson Cup. Teams were also fielded that year in the Cork SHC and Cork SFC for the first time.
