Patrick Leduc
Patrick Leduc (born December 26, 1977 in Saint-Lambert, Quebec) is a Canadian soccer player who formerly played for Montreal Impact in the USSF Division 2 Professional League. Career Youth and amateur Before turning pro Leduc played amateur soccer with FC Sélect Rive-Sud in the Ligue de Soccer Elite Quebec. He also played for U15 and U17 Quebec select teams winning two silver medals, and later played for Twin Cities Tornado in the USL Premier Development League in 1998 and 1999. Professional Leduc was signed by Montreal Impact of the USL First Division in 2000, but in his first two seasons was a bit-player, featuring in only a handful of games. Leduc finally broke into the first team in 2002, and spent over 1,000 minutes on the field for the first time of his career with the Impact, picking up his first assists in a 3–1 win against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on June 9. Saint-Lambert, Quebec
Saint-Lambert () is a city (french: ville) in southwestern Quebec, Canada, located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, opposite Montreal. It is part of the Urban agglomeration of Longueuil of the Montérégie administrative region. It was home to 21,861 people according to the Canada 2016 Census. Saint-Lambert is divided into two main sections: the original city of Saint-Lambert and the Préville neighbourhood. The original city of Saint-Lambert (as it existed prior to 1969) is located from the Country Club of Montreal golf course to the border of the Le Vieux-Longueuil borough. The Seattle Sounders were an American professional Association football, soccer team that was founded in 1994 and played in several United States soccer pyramid, second-division leagues, beginning with the American Professional Soccer League. They played in the A-League (1995–2004), A-League, later renamed the USL First Division, from 1997 to 2008. The team was named for the Seattle Sounders (1974–1983), Seattle Sounders of the North American Soccer League (1968–1984), North American Soccer League (NASL), which folded in 1983. A-League (1995–2004)
The A-League was a professional men's soccer league which featured teams from the United States and Canada. Founded in 1996 as the USISL Select League, the competition merged with the American Professional Soccer League in 1997 to become the USISL A-League. The 2009 season is the 23rd season played by the United Soccer Leagues. Season titles will be contested by 20 professional men's clubs in the USL First Division and USL Second Division, as well as 37 professional and amateur women's clubs in the W-League and 68 professional and amateur men's teams in the USL Premier Development League. The First Division season kicked off on April 11 with the US Open Cup finalist Charleston Battery and host defending champions Vancouver Whitecaps FC playing to a scoreless tie, while the Carolina RailHawks defeated the visiting Minnesota Thunder 2–1. The 2005 CONCACAF Gold Cup was the eighth edition of the Gold Cup, the football championship of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF). It was contested in the United States in July 2005. The United States emerged victorious in the final against an upstart Panama team led by tournament MVP Luis Tejada.
