Patrick Jones (poet)
Patrick Jones (born 1965) is a Welsh poet, playwright, and elder brother of Nicky Wire from Manic Street Preachers. Biography Born in Tredegar in 1965, Patrick Jones was educated at Oakdale Comprehensive, Crosskeys College (a campus of Coleg Gwent), and then at the University of Wales, Swansea from 1983 to 1987. He was awarded Bsc. (Hons) in Sociology and American Studies. Jones has been employed in youth work, nursing aid, as a Literacy Officer and a Lecturer. He has lived much of his life in Blackwood but has also lived in Herne Bay, Swansea, in Germany, and spent four years in Chicago, Illinois. Jones set up the Blackwood Young Writers Group based at the Blackwood Miners Institute in 1993. He taught Adult Literacy at Blackwood Community College and the Ebbw Vale Institute. Jones is also active in setting up various reading and writing workshops throughout Wales from schools to youth centres. Patrick Samuel Jones (born 9 June 2003) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for club Huddersfield Town and the Wales under-21 national team. Career Born in Stockport, England, Jones started his football career at his local team Ruthin Town, before moving to Bala Town and then Wrexham in 2017. He joined the Huddersfield Town Academy in September 2019, before signing a professional contract in October 2020. Because the transfer was across the England–Wales border, Jones had to wait for international clearance before joining the club, which came in January 2020. Jones made his senior debut for Huddersfield Town on 9 January 2021, starting in their 3–2 FA Cup Third Round defeat to Plymouth Argyle, before being replaced by Rolando Aarons. Patrick Allen Jones II (born September 29, 1998) is an American football outside linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Pittsburgh. Early life and high school Jones grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia and attended Grassfield High School. As a senior, he recorded 83 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks and was named All-Tidewater. Jones committed to play college football at Pittsburgh over offers from Virginia Tech, California, Duke, Illinois, and NC State. College career Jones enrolled at Pittsburgh a semester early and redshirted his true freshman season. As a redshirt freshman, he made seven total tackles and recorded a half of a sack. Patrick Henry Jones
Patrick Henry Jones (November 20, 1830 – July 23, 1900) was an American lawyer, public servant and Postmaster of New York City during the mid-to late 19th century. In 1878, he was involved in the Alexander T. Stewart bodysnatching case when he was contacted by the kidnappers to act as an intermediary between themselves and the Stewart estate. When negotiations stalled between the Stewart family's lawyer Henry Hilton, he assisted Stewart's widow in negotiating for the return of her husband's body. Jones also had a successful military career serving with the Union Army during the American Civil War, being involved in thirty major battles and countless skirmishes, and reaching the rank of brigadier general before the war's end. He was one of ten Irish-Americans to become brigade commanders and one of four Irish born officers to become a divisional commander. Lloyd Jones (born Patrick Lloyd Jones; 17 March 1811 – 22 May 1886) was an Irish socialist and union activist, advocate of co-operation, journalist and writer. He was born in Bandon, County Cork in 1811. Described by Sidney and Beatrice Webb as one of "the more thoughtful working-men leaders" and referred to by Karl Marx as "The Tailor", he was a friend, supporter and biographer of Robert Owen (his ''The Life and Times of Robert Owen'' was published posthumously in 1889) and aided Samuel Plimsoll in his campaign to improve safety at sea. Patrick Stanfield Jones is an American musician, producer, arranger, and singer-songwriter whose music is a mix of rock, jazz, folk, and blues. He is a brother of jazz percussionist Kevin Jones, and they have performed and recorded together. He has worked with Isley, Jasper, Isley and Whitney Houston. He has been a member of the touring casts of ''Jesus Christ Superstar'' and ''Oh, Calcutta!''. He performed the music of Ned Rorem's song cycle ''Songs of Sadness'', and ''Romeo and Juliet'' at Merkin recital hall in Manhattan on April 24, 2005. He has performed on more than 20 albums.
