Patrick Bowden
Patrick Bowden (born 4 August 1981) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. Football career Western Bulldogs In the 1999 AFL Draft, 1999 National AFL Draft, Bowden was a fourth-round selection (no. 58 overall) to the Western Bulldogs. With limited opportunities at the Bulldogs, he was traded at the end of the 2005 AFL season to the Richmond Football Club in return for the 55th pick in the 2005 AFL Draft, which the Bulldogs used to select Brett Montgomery. Western Bulldogs
The Western Bulldogs are a professional Australian rules football team that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's premier competition. Founded in 1877 as the Footscray Football Club, and based in West Footscray in the old City of Footscray west of Melbourne, the club won nine premierships in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) before gaining admission to the Victorian Football League (which became the AFL in 1990) in 1925. Sean Bowden
Sean Bowden (born 22 September 1970) is a former Australian rules footballer, later a lawyer. He played for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) and Port Melbourne in the Victorian Football Association in 1990 and 1991. A Law (Honors) graduate from the University of Melbourne, who grew up in Central Australia, Bowden is the founding partner of Northern Territory law firm Bowden McCormack Lawyers + Advisers. He is also a director of AFL Northern Territory Ltd. Bowden was drafted by Richmond with pick 103 in the 1988 VFL draft and started the 1990 AFL season by becoming the 920th player to debut with the Tigers. Michael Bowden (Australian Rules Footballer)
Michael John Bowden (21 March 1947 – 11 April 2020) was an Australian rules football player and Indigenous advocate. Bowden played 59 matches for the Richmond Football Club in the VFL between 1967 and 1971. Following his playing career he became an educator in the Northern Territory and a passionate advocate for Indigenous communities, for which he received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM). Football career Bowden attended St Kevins College where he won the school's 1964 best and fairest and at the same time played for the under 19s program before quitting to study as a priest at Corpus Christi College. He left the seminary after two years and returned to Richmond, where he made his senior league debut in round 8 of the 1967 season, playing as a ruck-rover. Richmond Football Club
The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Between its inception in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond in 1885 and 1907, the club competed in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), winning two premierships. Richmond joined the Victorian Football League (now known as the AFL) in 1908 and has since won 13 premierships, most recently in 2020. Brett Montgomery
Brett Montgomery (born 1 June 1973) is a retired Australian rules football player and current assistant coach with the Port Adelaide Football Club. Early life Montgomery, known as "Monty", was originally recruited from South Croydon, and was recruited by Essendon Football Club (U19's & reserves) but was dropped from their list in 1991. Montgomery was also a talented cricketer, and had captained the under-19s Victorian team. In 1992 and 1993 he played club cricket in the Durham League and Middlesex League in England, before returning to Australia to refresh his Australian rules football career. He played with VFL side Springvale, playing in a premiership, then being picked up by Footscray, on their supplementary list.
