Patrick Anderson (fl. 9 May 1618 – 1 January 1635), was a physician and author. Anderson was the author of 'The Colde Spring of Kinghorne Craig, his admirable and new tried properties so far foorth as yet are found true by experience' (1618), dedicated to John, earl of Mar; and a very rare book called 'Grana Angelica; hoc est, Pilularum hujus nominis insignis utilitas, quibus etiam accesserunt alia quædam paucula de durioris Alvi incommodis propter materiæ cognitionem, ac vice supplementi in fine adjuncta,’ Edinburgh, 12mo, 1635. The latter describes some mild aperient pills, the prescription for which Anderson says that he brought from Venice, which continued in 1843 to be sold in Edinburgh by the proprietor of an ancient patent. Patrick Anderson of Walston was a 17th-century minister and Covenanter. Early life He graduated with an M.A. from St. Andrews 1648. He came to Walston between 1 May and 1 November 1655. Legal troubles He was subsequently deprived of his post by Act of Parliament 11 June, and of Privy Council 1 October 1662. He was granted indulgence in Dreghorn or at Kilbirnie prior to 22 October 1674. He was ejected for non-conformity in 1663. In September 1672, he was ordered by the council, under the Act of Indulgence, to repair to the parish of Kilbirnie, and there to remain confined, with permission to preach and to exercise the other parts of his ministerial function, — which order he did not obey. In 1673, he was called before the council, and ordered to his confinement. Patrick Anderson (Jesuit)
Patrick Anderson (1575–1624) was a Scottish Jesuit, known as a missioner, college head, and author. Life Anderson was a native of Elgin or Moray, his mother being a sister of John Lesley. After a basic education at Elgin grammar school, and a course of classical study at the University of Edinburgh, he entered the Society of Jesus at Rome in 1597. In time Anderson acquired a reputation as linguist, mathematician, philosopher, and divine. Sent to Scotland as a missioner, he arrived via London where he was in November 1609. He had hairbreadth escapes from the authorities. He left Scotland for Paris to meet his superior, James Gordon, late in 1611; at that time there was only a single Catholic priest in Scotland. Anderson gathered nearly a hundred young Scots as candidates for the priesthood, and in 1615 he became the first Jesuit rector of the Scotch College in Rome. The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) is the governing body of football in Jamaica and is in charge of the Jamaica national football team and the Jamaica National Premier League. History Early history (1893–1962) According to the JFF, the Football Association was formed in 1910 and controlled all games in Jamaica. In 1925, Jamaica's national team had its first international match against Haiti and won all three games 1–0, 2–1, and 3–0. In 1926, Jamaica hosted Haiti at Sabina Park and won 6–0. The Haitians remained frequent opponents, and it was not until 1932 that their run of defeats was broken with a 4–1 home win in Port-au-Prince. Patrick Anderson (born 22 August 1979) is a Canadian wheelchair basketball player. Personal life Anderson was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and he grew up in Fergus, Ontario. At the age of nine he was hit by a drunk driver, and as a result lost both his legs below the knee. Because of this, he is classified as a 4.5-point player for competition. Basketball Anderson is widely considered to be one of the best wheelchair basketball players in the world. He began playing the sport in 1990 and was first chosen for the Canadian national team in 1997. He led the Canadian Junior Men's National Team to victories in the World Championships in 1997 and 2001, and was named MVP at both competitions. At senior level he was a member of the team that won a bronze medal at the 1998 World Championships and was chosen as a member of the all-star team for the event.
