Patricio Yáñez
Patricio Nazario Yáñez Candia (born January 20, 1961) is a Chilean former footballer who played as a forward. Club career Yáñez began his career in 1977 with San Luis and won the Copa Apertura Segunda División and Chilean Segunda División in 1980. He moved to Spain to play for Real Valladolid, and won the Copa de la Liga in 1984. For the 1985–86 season, he went on loan to Real Zaragoza, before playing for Real Betis. In 1990, he returned to Chile, briefly playing for Universidad de Chile, before ending his career with Colo-Colo. During his time there, he won the Chilean Primera División twice and the Copa Chile, Copa Libertadores and Recopa Sudamericana once. International career Yáñez appeared 43 times for the national team, scoring five goals. He made his debut on June 13, 1979, in a friendly against Ecuador, replacing Jorge Neumann, and had his last match on November 16, 1994, against Argentina. Valparaíso
Valparaíso (; ) is a major city, seaport, naval base, and educational centre in the commune of Valparaíso, Chile. "Greater Valparaíso" is the second largest metropolitan area in the country. The Copa Chile (''Chile Cup'') is an annual cup competition for Chilean football teams. Due to time constraints and club pressure, the trophy was cancelled in 2000, but returned in 2008. Its precursor was the Campeonato de Apertura (''Opening Championship''), played from 1933 to 1950. The cup is now open to every member club of the Chilean football league system, from professional teams; ( Primera División, Primera B & Segunda División), down to teams from the ANFA: Tercera División. Canal 13 is a Chilean free-to-air television channel. It was launched on 21 August 1959, on VHF channel 2 of Santiago, in a broadcast led by a group of engineers from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Subsequently, the TV station moved its frequency to VHF channel 13, which gave rise to its current name. Roberto Rojas (Chilean Footballer)
Roberto Antonio "Cóndor" Rojas Saavedra (born 8 August 1957) is a retired Chilean football goalkeeper. In 1989, he deliberately injured himself during a World Cup qualifying match in an attempt to avoid a loss by the Chile national team. The incident resulted in a lifetime ban for Rojas and one World Cup ban for Chile. His ban was subsequently lifted in 2001. Career Rojas was born and raised in Chile. He began his career in 1976 with the Chilean club Aviación. Rojas went on to play for Colo-Colo from 1983 until 1987. With Colo-Colo, Rojas won national titles in 1983 and 1986. In 1987, after a successful performance in the Copa América, he transferred to Brazil's São Paulo where he remained until 1989. The 1982 FIFA World Cup was the 12th FIFA World Cup, a quadrennial Association football, football tournament for men's senior national teams, and was played in Spain between 13 June and 11 July 1982. The Ecuador national football team ( es, Selección de fútbol de Ecuador) represents Ecuador in men's international football and is controlled by the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF).
