Patricia Murillo
Claudia Patricia Murillo (born 1993) is a Salvadorian model and beauty pageant titleholder. She was crowned Nuestra Belleza El Salvador 2014 and represented her country at the Miss Universe 2014 pageant. She was said to be the "Mesoamerican Queen" based on her Native American physical features, as well as her national costume where she portrayed the Siguanaba mythology. Patricia was born in the town of Juayúa, which means "River of purple orchids", in Native American Pipil language. Juayúa
Juayúa is a city and municipality in the Sonsonate department of El Salvador. It is a small town up in the mountains, founded in 1577. Juayua is located in the western part of El Salvador, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) from San Salvador. History Juayúa is a Pre-Columbian Pipil town. By the year 1550, its population was estimated at about 300 inhabitants. and by 1577, it was a catechizing town for the Franciscans priests living in Sonsonate. Nuestra Belleza Mundo El Salvador was a national Beauty pageant in El Salvador. The winner represented El Salvador at Miss World. Between 2006 - 2015, the winner was given the title of Nuestra Belleza Universo and competed at Miss Universe. Miss Universe 2014 was the 63rd Miss Universe pageant, held at the FIU Arena in Florida, United States on January 25, 2015. This was the first time in the history of the competition that the pageant was not during the year the title was awarded for. However, the pageant was still known as the 2014 pageant. Sihuanaba, La Siguanaba, Cigua or Cegua is a supernatural character from Central American folklore though it can also be heard in Mexico. It is a shapeshifting spirit that typically takes the form of an attractive, long haired woman seen from behind. She lures men away into danger before revealing her face to be that of a horse or, alternatively, a skull. Pipil Language
Nawat (academically Pipil, also known as Nicarao) is a Nahuan language native to Central America. It is the southernmost extant member of the Uto-Aztecan family. It was spoken in several parts of present-day Central America before the Spanish colonization, but now is mostly confined to western El Salvador. It has been on the verge of extinction in El Salvador and has already gone extinct elsewhere in Central America, but as of 2012 new second-language speakers are starting to appear. In El Salvador, Nawat was the language of several groups: Nonualcos, Cuscatlecos, Izalcos and is known to be the Náhua variety of migrating Toltec.
