Patricia Mirallès
Patricia Mirallès (born 22 August 1967) is a French politician of the Territories of Progress (TdP) party who has been serving as Secretary of State to the Minister of the Armed Forces in the government of successive Prime Ministers Élisabeth Borne and Gabriel Attal since 2022. From the 2017 elections to 2022, she was a member of the French National Assembly, representing the department of Hérault. Early life and education Mirallès was born to Pieds-Noirs parents and grew up in Montpellier. Political career Mirallès was a member of the Socialist Party from 1997 until 2012. From 2017 until 2020, she was a member of La République En Marche! (LREM). In parliament, Mirallès served on the Defence Committee. |

Renaissance (RE), previously known as La République En Marche ! (frequently abbreviated LREM, LaREM or REM; translated as "The Republic on the Move" or "Republic Forward"), or sometimes called simply En Marche ! () as its original name, is a liberal political party in France. The Socialist Party (french: Parti socialiste , PS) is a French centre-left and social-democratic political party. It holds pro-European views. The PS was for decades the largest party of the "French Left" and used to be one of the two major political parties in the French Fifth Republic, along with The Republicans. The ''Pieds-Noirs'' (; ; ''Pied-Noir''), are the people of French and other European descent who were born in Algeria during the period of French rule from 1830 to 1962; the vast majority of whom departed for mainland France as soon as Algeria gained independence or in the months following. From the French invasion on 18 June 1830 until its independence, Algeria was administratively part of France; its European population were simply called Algerians or ''colons'' (colonists), whereas the Muslim people of Algeria were called Arabs, Muslims or Indigenous. 2017 French Legislative Election
Legislative elections in France were held on 11 and 18 June 2017 (with different dates for voters overseas) to elect the 577 members of the 15th National Assembly of the Fifth Republic. They followed the two-round presidential election won by Emmanuel Macron. The centrist party he founded in 2016, La République En Marche! (LREM), led an alliance with the centrist Democratic Movement (MoDem); together, the two parties won 350 of the 577 seats—a substantial majority—in the National Assembly, including an outright majority of 308 seats for LREM.
