Patricia Driscoll
Patricia Noel Driscoll (17 December 1927 – 2 January 2020) was a British and Irish actress, who has appeared both on television and in films.''Picture Show Who's Who on the Screen'' (Amalgamated Press • London) 956p40 Television work Trained as an actress at RADA, Driscoll made her first television appearances in 1953 on ''Whirligig'' and then as a police sergeant in the series '' Scotland Yard'' in the episode "The Silent Witness". From 1955 to 1957, she introduced ''Picture Book'', a BBC Television series that appeared on Mondays as part of the ''Watch with Mother'' cycle and encouraged children to make things. Maid Marian
Maid Marian is the heroine of the Robin Hood legend in English folklore, often taken to be his lover. She is not mentioned in the early, medieval versions of the legend, but was the subject of at least two plays by 1600. Her history and circumstances are obscure, but she commanded high respect in Robin’s circle for her courage and independence as well as her beauty and loyalty. For this reason, she is celebrated by feminist commentators as one of the early strong female characters in English literature. History Maid Marian (or Marion) is never mentioned in any of the earliest extant ballads of Robin Hood. ''The Good Life'' is a British sitcom, produced by BBC television. It ran from 4 April 1975 to 10 June 1978 on BBC 1 and was written by Bob Larbey and John Esmonde. Opening with the midlife crisis of Tom Good, a 40-year-old plastics designer, it relates the joys and setbacks he and his wife Barbara experience when they attempt to escape a modern "rat race" lifestyle by "becoming totally self-sufficient" in their suburban house in Surbiton. Zena Moyra Marshall (1 January 1926 – 10 July 2009) was a British actress of film and television, who was born in Kenya. Early years Marshall was of English, Irish and (on her mother's side) French descent. Though born in Kenya, after her father's death and her mother's remarriage, Zena Marshall was brought up in Leicestershire, England. Terence Fisher (23 February 1904 – 18 June 1980) was a British film director best known for his work for Hammer Films. He was the first to bring gothic horror alive in full colour, and the sexual overtones and explicit horror in his films, while mild by modern standards, were unprecedented in his day. His first major gothic horror film was ''The Curse of Frankenstein'' (1957), which launched Hammer's association with the genre and made British actors Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee leading horror stars of the era. It stars Robert Beatty as Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Canadian Mountie Mike Maguire, and follows his work fighting crime alongside London's police. Named after the 999 (emergency telephone number), emergency telephone number for the United Kingdom, Beatty was essentially reprising his role in the 1946 film ''Appointment with Crime'', in which he played Detective Inspector Rogers, a Canadian police officer attached to Scotland Yard. Walter William Bygraves (16 October 1922 – 31 August 2012), best known by the stage name Max Bygraves (adopted in honour of Max Miller), was an English comedian, singer, actor and variety performer. He appeared on his own television shows, sometimes performing comedy sketches between songs. Gene Nelson (born Leander Eugene Berg; March 24, 1920 – September 16, 1996) was an American actor, dancer, screenwriter, and director. Biography Born Leander Eugene Berg in Astoria, Oregon, he and his family moved to Seattle when he was one year old.
