Bijoy Mohapatra
Bijoy Mohapatra (born 7 November 1950) is a politician from Odisha. A leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, he was Irrigation Minister of Odisha from 1990 to 1995 in the Biju Patnaik cabinet. He was the most powerful minister (known as Super Chief Minister) in Biju Patnaik's cabinet. He was four times MLA from Patkura Constituency of Kendrapara district. He won four straight elections in 1980, 1985, 1990 and 1995. After the completion of his early education at Korua High School, in 1965, Mohapatra received his B.A. degree from Kendrapara College, Utkal University in 1969. He later received his LLB. Kendrapara District is an administrative district of Odisha state in eastern India. The town of Kendrapara is the district headquarters. Bed Prakash Agarwal
Bed Prakash Agarwal (died April 20, 2019) was an Indian politician. Biography Agarwal was of Marwari descent and a native of Patkura. He was a member of the Kendrapara municipal council from 1957 to 1970, when he began serving as chairman of the municipality. He left office in 1974 to contest the Kendrapara seat in the Odisha Legislative Assembly, and was seated as a representative of the Utkal Congress. Agarwal switched affiliations to the Janata Party and was reelected in 1977. He grew close to Biju Patnaik, joined the Janata Dal for the 1990 elections, and served as finance minister within Patnaik's government. Following Patnaik's death in 1997, Agarwal contested the 2000 Odisha legislative elections as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. 2009 Odisha Legislative Assembly Election
The 2009 Odisha Legislative Assembly election took place in April 2009, concurrently with the general election. The elections were held in the state in two phases. The results were declared on 16 May. Despite having recently separated from the Bharatiya Janata Party after an eleven-year partnership, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) retained power in the Odisha State Assembly with a more convincing majority. Biju Patnaik
Bijayananda Patnaik (5 March 1916 – 17 April 1997) was an Indian politician, aviator and businessman. As politician, he served twice as the Chief Minister of the State of Odisha. Early life His parents lived in Bellaguntha, Ganjam district, around 80 km from Bramhapur. He was educated at Ravenshaw College in Odisha but, due to his interest in aviation, dropped out and trained as a pilot. Patnaik flew with private airlines but at the start of the Second World War he joined the Royal Indian Air Force. He eventually became the head of air transport command. While in service, he developed an interest in nationalist politics and used air force transports to deliver what was seen as subversive literature to Indian troops.
