Pathlight School
Pathlight School is a special school for high-functioning children with autism in Singapore. Founded in 2004, it is run by the non-profit Autism Resource Centre and comprises one half of the national educational provision for autistic children. The school coaches students in social and life skills, teaches them mainstream curriculum subjects and prepares them for employment in an autism friendly environment. With more than 1000 pupils enrolled, the school has been noted for its achievements in special education in Singapore. History In 2003, the Autism Resource Centre (ARC) launched a project to provide comprehensive support for autistic Singaporeans, which included plans to set up the first autism-focused special school in Singapore. Mayflower Secondary School
Mayflower Secondary School is a co-educational government secondary school in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore founded in 1981. History Mayflower Secondary School began in 1981 with Wan Hussein as the pioneering principal. On 15 July 1983, the school was officially opened by Lim Boon Heng, Member of Parliament for Kebun Baru. In 2007 the school embarked on a programme "Project Cool Running" to raise funds to equip the school hall with air-conditioning. This was organised by the Kebun Baru Community Club. The first event, "Tri-Fit", was carried out on 12 March 2011. This event involved the whole school population, and they participated in one of the three sports events: walking, rollerblading and rope skipping. The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) (Malay: ''Peperiksaan Tamat Sekolah Rendah'', Simplified Chinese: 小学离校考试 x''iǎoxué lí xiào kǎoshì'') is a national examination in Singapore that is administered by the Ministry of Education and taken by all students near the end of their sixth year in primary school before they move on to secondary school. Neurotypical
Neurotypical (NT, an abbreviation of neurologically typical) is a neologism widely used in the neurodiversity movement as a label for non-neurodivergent people. That is, anyone who has a typical neurotype, so excluding autistic people, those with ADHD, dyslexia, and so on.
