Paterson Street
Paterson Street () is a street in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. It starts north at Victoria Park Road, crosses Kingston Street and Great George Street and ends at Yee Wo Street or Canadian Street to the south. The street was named after William Paterson, a partner of Jardine Matheson & Co., the company which owned most parts of today's Causeway Bay in the 19th century. The first McDonald's branch in Hong Kong was opened on 8 January 1975 in Hang Lung Centre, on Paterson Street. Illegal parking and waiting is a persistent problem along Paterson Street. In the 1990s, the southern portion of Paterson Street, between Great George Street and Yee Wo Street, was restricted to buses, and then in July 2000, converted to a pedestrian street. Victoria Park Road () is a road in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Its western section between Gloucester Road and Island Eastern Corridor before the completion of Central–Wan Chai Bypass, served as a portion of Route 4. It starts at the junction of Route 1 and ends in Hing Fat Street. The road is 750 metres long and was built in 1972 by reclamation following the shoreline, along with the Cross-Harbour Tunnel. Yee Wo Street () is a street in East Point and Causeway Bay, Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. Its junction with Hennessy Road is one of the busiest junctions in Hong Kong. Name Yeewo was the Cantonese name of a Qing Dynasty hong established by Wǔ Guóyíng () in Canton in 1783, which later became the leader of the cohong of the Thirteen Factories under the stewardship of Howqua, who took over in 1803.
