Paterika Vaivai
Paterika Vaivai (born 14 February 1992) is a Samoan professional rugby league footballer who plays for New Zealand Warriors in their New South Wales Cup side and for the Te Atatu Roosters in the Auckland Rugby League competition. He previously played for the Newcastle Knights and Gold Coast Titans in the National Rugby League, and the Leigh Centurions in the Championship. Background Vaivai was born in Salamumu, Salamumu, Samoa, and moved to New Zealand at a young age. He played his junior rugby league for the Bay Roskill Vikings in the Auckland Rugby League's Sharman Cup, before being signed by the Melbourne Storm. Salamumu
Salamumu is a village on the south west coast of Upolu island in Samoa. The village has two settlements, Salamumu Uta (population 338) and Salamumu Tai (population 33). The village's name is derived from the words ''sala'' (fire) and ''mumu'' (punishment), and refers to its origin when people from Sale'aula were relocated to Upolu during the 1905—1911 eruption of Mt Matavanu. Although the village, area 13.11 km2, is geographically located on Upolu, the village is politically (and historically) part of the Gaga'emauga electoral district on the island of Savai'i. The people of Salamumu still have strong kinship cultural ties to their land on Savai'i. The Top 14 () is a professional rugby union club competition that is played in France. Created in 1892, the Top 14 is at the top of the national league system operated by the French National Rugby League, also known by its French initialism of LNR. The Burleigh Bears are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in Gold Coast, Australia. They compete in Queensland's top rugby league competition, the Queensland Cup.
