Pat Thibaudeau
Patricia Thibaudeau (June 13, 1932 – October 28, 2021) was a politician from the state of Washington whose term as a Washington state senator from Seattle's District 43 expired in January 2007. She declined to run for reelection in 2006 after Ed Murray announced he would challenge her in the primary election for the Democratic nomination. Thibaudeau, a Democrat, graduated from Whitman College with a BA in Psychology and from Smith College with a master's degree in social work. She was a partner in a governmental relations firm and a state representative before being elected to the Washington State Senate. Thibaudeau was the vice-chair of the State Senate's Health & Long Term Care Committee, and served on the Judiciary Committee, Human Services & Corrections Committee, Ways & Means Committee, Rules Committee, and Joint Legislative Audit & Review Committee. Washington's 43rd Legislative District
Washington's 43rd legislative district is one of forty-nine districts in Washington state for representation in the state legislature. It covers parts of Seattle, specifically Downtown Seattle, First Hill, Capitol Hill, South Lake Union, Washington Park, Madison Park, Eastlake, Montlake, Portage Bay, Wallingford, Fremont, the University District (including the UW campus), Green Lake and parts of Phinney Ridge and Ravenna. The district's legislators are state senator Jamie Pedersen and state representatives Nicole Macri (position 1) and Frank Chopp (position 2), all Democrats. Cal Anderson
Calvin Bruce Anderson (May 2, 1948August 4, 1995) was an American military officer and politician who served as a member of the Washington State Senate, representing the 43rd district in 1995. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as a member of the Washington House of Representatives from 1987 to 1995, and was the first openly gay member of the Washington State Legislature. Anderson was born in Seattle, Washington, and educated at Foster High School. He became involved in politics at a young age working for his father's city council campaign and Warren Magnuson's Senate campaign. Following high school he joined the United States Army and worked as a court reporter for the 23rd Infantry Division. He came out as gay to his parents during his time in the military.
