Pat Ryan (Borris–Ileigh Hurler)
Patrick Ryan (born 1958) is an Irish former hurler. At club level he played with Borris–Ileigh and was also a member of the Tipperary senior hurling team. Career Ryan played hurling as a schoolboy at Templemore CBS where he won consecutive Corn Phádraig titles and a Dr. Kinnane Cup in 1974 and 1975. He first played for Borris–Ileigh at juvenile and underage levels before eventually joining the club's senior team. Ryan won two North Tipperary SHC titles and a Tipperary SHC title in 1981. His accountancy studies and subsequent career abroad brought a premature end to his hurling, however, he rejoined the Borris–Ileigh team and trained with them in advance of their defeat of Rathnure in the 1987 All-Ireland club final. Pat Ryan (Cork Hurler)
Patrick Ryan (born 23 July 1976) is an Irish hurling manager, coach, selector and former player. He usually played at midfield for club side Sarsfields and at inter-county level with the Cork senior hurling team. Ryan first played competitive hurling at colleges level with the North Monastery, winning an All-Ireland medal in 1994. His inter-county career with Cork spanned eight seasons, beginning as a member of the under-21 team in 1996, with whom he won an All-Ireland medal. After joining the Cork senior team in 1997, Ryan won an All-Ireland medal in 1999, as well as Munster and National League titles. As a player with the Sarsfields club, he won two county championship medals. As a manager, coach and selector, Ryan has guided the Sarsfields club to two county championship titles, while he also helped the Cork senior team to a Munster title in 2017. Patrick Ryan (born 1995) is an Irish hurler who plays as a Full Forward for club side Doon and at inter-county level with the Limerick senior hurling team. Playing career University During his studies at the University of Limerick, Ryan was selected for the college's senior hurling team. On 24 February 2018, he won a Fitzgibbon Cup medal following UL's 2-21 to 2-15 defeat of Dublin City University in the final. Club Ryan joined the Doon club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels, enjoying championship success in under-12, under-14 and under-15 grades. Patrick Ryan (hammer Thrower)
Patrick James Ryan (20 January 1883 – 13 February 1964) was an Irish American hammer thrower. He competed for the United States at the 1920 Summer Olympics and won a gold medal in the hammer throw and a silver in the 56-pound weight throw. In 1913 he established the first world record in hammer throw, which stood as a world record for 25 years and as an American record for 40 years. Ryan was part of Irish weight throwers known as the Irish Whales. Biography Born in County Limerick, Ireland, Ryan won his first Irish hammer title in 1902, beating the great Tom Kiely. Patrick Lee Ryan (born September 16, 1955) is a former professional American football quarterback and is currently the football color analyst on the Vol Radio Network, broadcasting games for his alma mater, the University of Tennessee. He played 14 seasons in the National Football League for the New York Jets and the Philadelphia Eagles. Biography Ryan was born in Hutchinson, Kansas and attended Putnam High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He played college football at the University of Tennessee. Ryan was drafted in the eleventh round of the 1978 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. Patrick J. C. Ryan (born September 28, 1955 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a Canadian curler originally from Edmonton, Alberta. Ryan is a former World Champion skip, and three time Brier champion. Ryan lives in Kelowna, British Columbia. Career Ryan appeared in his first Brier in 1979 when he was the second for Paul Devlin's Alberta team. They finished 6-5. In 1985, Ryan returned to the Brier, as a skip of Team Alberta. His team of Gord Trenchie, Don McKenzie, and Don Walchuk had an impressive 11-1 performance, their only loss coming in the final against Al Hackner of Northern Ontario. Two years later, Ryan would return to the Brier. His new team, which included Randy Ferbey (whom he played with at the 1986 Canadian Mixed Championship) and Roy Herbert along with Walchuk finished with a disappointing 6-5 record. Thelma Catherine "Pat" Nixon (''née'' Ryan; March 16, 1912 – June 22, 1993) was First Lady of the United States from 1969 to 1974 as the wife of President Richard Nixon. She also served as Second Lady of the United States from 1953 to 1961 when her husband was vice president.
