Pat Farmer (soccer)
Patrick Farmer (born May 9, 1949) is an American soccer coach who currently coaches the women's soccer team at Transylvania University. Farmer previously coached university women's soccer teams at Ithaca, Penn State, Tennessee Tech, Syracuse, and Cornell. He also coached New York Power, the first professional soccer league for women in the United States, in the Women's United Soccer Association. Early life and education A native of Old Forge, New York, Farmer was a letterman on the soccer, skiing, and track teams at Town of Webb High School. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from St. Lawrence University, where he was a three-time letterwinner in soccer and skiing. He also served as an assistant coach and then the head coach for the men's ski team, and assistant coach for the men's soccer team. Women's United Soccer Association
The Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA) was the world's first Women's association football, women's soccer league in which all the players were paid as professionals.
