Lui Passaglia
Lui Passaglia (born June 7, 1954) is a former professional Canadian football player. Passaglia was the placekicker/ punter for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League for a record-breaking 25 years (1976–2000) and scored more points in that time than any professional gridiron football player in history. He is a member of Canada's Sports Hall of Fame, the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame, and the BC Lions Wall of Fame. Passaglia's #5 jersey is one of nine numbers retired by the Lions. In 2003, Passaglia was voted a member of the BC Lions All-Time Dream Team as part of the club's 50 year anniversary celebration. In 2006, Passaglia was voted one of the CFL's Top 50 players (#30) of the league's modern era by Canadian sports network TSN. Carlo Passaglia
Carlo Passaglia (2 May 1812 – 12 March 1887) was an Italian Jesuit. Life He was born at Lucca. Passaglia was soon destined for the priesthood, and was placed under the care of the Jesuits at the age of fifteen. He became successively doctor in mathematics, philosophy and theology in the university of Rome. In 1844 he was made professor in the Collegio Romano, the well known Jesuit college in Rome. In 1845 he took the vows as a member of the Jesuit order. In 1848, during the expulsion of the Jesuits from Rome which followed on the revolutionary troubles in the Italian peninsula, he paid a brief visit to England. On his return to Italy he founded, with the assistance of Father Curc and Luigi Taparelli D'Azeglio, the celebrated organ of the Jesuit order entitled ''La Civiltà Cattolica''. Augusto Passaglia
Augusto Passaglia (Lucca, 1838 – Florence, 1918) was an Italian sculptor. Biography As a young man, he was awarded a stipend to study in Florence under Giovanni Duprè, and was active there for the remainder of his life. Among his first works were a bronze ''Art and Science (sold to private buyer in St Petersburg, Russia), and a larger than life statue of the writer ''Boccaccio'', erected in the town of the writer's birthplace, Certaldo. He also sculpted a young Benvenuto Cellini, annoyed of having to play the flute for his father, lays the instrument on his stool, and stretches in an act of extreme disgust. He submitted proposals for monuments to Vittorio Emanuele for Venice and Turin. While not chosen, his proposal at Turin was awarded a 4000-lire prize, at Venice, 2500 lire. Martin Harold Passaglia (April 22, 1919 – July 17, 2004) was an American professional basketball player. He spent two seasons in the Basketball Association of America (BAA) as a member of the Washington Capitols (1946–47) and the Indianapolis Jets (1948–49).
