Pasquale Pozzessere
Pasquale Pozzessere (born in 1957) is an Italian film director and screenwriter. Life and career Born in Lizzano, Taranto in the mid-1980s Pozzessere abandoned his medicine university studies to enter the cinema industry working as a script supervisor for Pupi Avati and as assistant director of Francesco Maselli. After directing a number of short films, he made his feature film debut in 1992, with '' Verso Sud'', for which he was nominated to a David di Donatello for Best New Director and won the Grolla d'oro in the same category. The film also won the Grand Prix at the Annecy Film Festival. Lizzano ( Salentino: ; la, Licyanum) is a ''comune'' of 10,175 inhabitants (2013) in the province of Taranto in the Apulia region of southeast Italy. Lizzano DOC The area around Lizzano produces red, white, ''rose'' and sparkling Italian DOC wines. Grapes destined for reds and ''roses'' are limited to a harvest yield of 14 tonnes/ha with the finished wine needing to have a minimum alcohol level of 11.5%. White wine grapes are limited to a harvest yield of 12 tonnes/ha with minimum alcohol level of 10.5% The reds, ''roses'' and ''frizzante roses'' are blends composed primarily of Negroamaro (60-80%) with Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Bombino nero and Pinot noir making up the remaining. The Annecy Italian Film Festival (french: Festival du Cinéma Italien d'Annecy), founded in 1983 and since then, each year shows the best of contemporary Italian cinema.
