Pasi Nielikäinen
Pasi Nielikäinen (born 11 February 1974, Oulainen, Finland) is a former professional ice hockey player. Playing career Nielikäinen has played for numerous teams in the Finnish SM-liiga; these include Kärpät, HIFK (ice hockey), HIFK and HPK. Nielikäinen also played one season in East Coast Hockey League for the Miami Matadors and one season for the Great Britain, British team the Manchester Storm (1995–2002), Manchester Storm. Style of play Nielikäinen is not a usual Finnish hockey player when it comes to playing. Nielikäinen is known for serving as an Enforcer (ice hockey), enforcer for his team. Helsingin Jokerit (, English: Joker (playing card), Jokers or Jesters of Helsinki) is a professional ice hockey team based in Helsinki, Finland, which competes in Mestis. Jokerit plays its home games at the Helsinki Ice Hall and Helsinki Halli in Helsinki. Oulainen (, also ) is a town and a municipality of Finland. It is located in the Northern Ostrobothnia region, south of the city of Oulu. Sami Helenius
Sami "Helge" Helenius (born January 22, 1974) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey defenceman who played predominantly in the SM-liiga and National Hockey League. He most recently was in a coaching role with Haukat of the Suomi-sarja. Playing career Helenius was drafted by the Calgary Flames as their fifth-round pick, 102nd overall, in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. He started his professional career in Jokerit in the Finnish SM-liiga in 1992, and made his way to North America for the 1994–95 season, and after spending five years mostly in the minor leagues, Helenius took his place as an NHL defenceman, playing for several teams. Enforcer (ice Hockey)
Enforcer is a role in ice hockey. The term is sometimes used synonymously with "fighter", "tough guy", or "goon". An enforcer's job is to deter and respond to dirty or violent play by the opposition. When such play occurs, the enforcer is expected to respond aggressively, by fighting or checking the offender. Enforcers are expected to react particularly harshly to violence against star players or goalies. Enforcers are different from pests, players who seek to agitate opponents and distract them from the game, without necessarily fighting them. The pest's primary role is to draw penalties from opposing players, thus "getting them off their game", while not actually intending to fight the opposition player (although exceptions to this do occur). Pests and enforcers often play together on the same line, usually the fourth line.
