Pasadena Republican Club (PRC) is the oldest, continuously active Republican political club in America, founded on March 29, 1884, . Every two years for the last years the Pasadena Republican Club has operated the Greater Pasadena Area Republican Headquarters in Pasadena, California with the help of volunteers. Greater Pasadena Area Republican Headquarters supports the towns in the west side of the San Gabriel Valley. Pasadena Republican Club works closely with Republicans running for office of the California's 41st State Assembly district. The Pasadena Republican Club helps Republican candidates get elected to federal, state, and local office. Pasadena Republican Club is funded by membership donations and general donations. California Republican Party
The California Republican Party (CAGOP) is the affiliate of the United States Republican Party in the U.S. state of California. The party is based in Sacramento and is led by chair Jessica Millan Patterson. As of October 2020, Republicans represent approximately 24% of the state's registered voters, placing the party far behind the California Democratic Party which has 46% of registered voters. The party is a superminority in the California State Legislature, holding only 18 seats out of 80 in the California State Assembly and 8 seats out of 40 in the California State Senate. Jabez Banbury
Colonel Jabez Banbury (March 4, 1830 – December 9, 1900) was an early settler and founder of Pasadena, California. He served in the American Civil War, attaining the rank of colonel. He was also the first president of the Pasadena Republican Club, which was founded in 1884. Early life Banbury was born in Cornwall, England, on the farm of his parents, Thomas Banbury and Mary Lysle. He attended school in Launceston until the age of ten or eleven. After the death of Banbury's mother at the age of fifty, the family emigrated to the United States, settling in Knox County, Ohio. He worked for four years as an apprentice in a cabinet-making business in Mount Vernon. In late 1851, aged 21, he moved west to Iowa City, Iowa. Military service Banbury was enlisted in the American Civil War as first lieutenant in the 5th Iowa Volunteer Infantry Regiment in July 1861. Young Republicans
The Young Republican National Federation, commonly referred to as the Young Republicans or YRNF, is a 527 organization for members of the Republican Party of the United States between the ages of 18 and 40. It has both a national organization and chapters in individual states. Although frequently confused, the YRNF is separate from the College Republicans. Young Republican Clubs are both social and political in nature. Many of them sponsor various social events and networking events for members. John Carl Hinshaw
John Carl Hinshaw (July 28, 1894 – August 5, 1956) was a United States representative from California from 1939 to 1956. Biography He was born in Chicago, Illinois, son of William Wade and Anna Williams Hinshaw. He attended the public schools and Valparaiso University. He graduated from Princeton University in 1916 and pursued a postgraduate course in business administration at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He served overseas as a First Lieutenant in the Sixteenth Railroad Engineers from May 1917 to September 1919 during and immediately after World War I. He was then discharged as a captain in the Corps of Engineers. He served as laborer, salesman, and manager in automotive manufacturing in Chicago from 1920-1926. He also engaged in investment banking in 1927 and 1928. Hinshaw moved to Pasadena, California in 1929 and engaged in the real estate and insurance business. Henry Markham
Henry Harrison Markham (November 16, 1840October 9, 1923) was an American lawyer and Republican politician. He was the 18th governor of California (1891–1895), and represented California's 6th congressional district during the 49th United States Congress (1885–1887). Earlier in life, he served as a Union Army officer in the American Civil War. Early life On November 16, 1840, Markham was born in Wilmington, New York. Career During the Civil War, Markham enlisted as a private in Company G, 32nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment; he was promoted to second lieutenant. Markham was part of General William Tecumseh Sherman's March to the Sea in 1864. He was wounded at the Battle of Rivers' Bridge in 1865, and discharged.
