Pleiades
The Pleiades (), also known as The Seven Sisters, Messier 45 and other names by different cultures, is an asterism and an open star cluster containing middle-aged, hot B-type stars in the north-west of the constellation Taurus. At a distance of about 444 light years, it is among the nearest star clusters to Earth. It is the nearest Messier object to Earth, and is the most obvious cluster to the naked eye in the night sky. It is also observed to house the reflection nebula NGC 1432, an HII Ionized region. The cluster is dominated by hot blue luminous stars that have formed within the last 100 million years. Reflection nebulae around the brightest stars were once thought to be left over material from their formation, but are now considered likely to be an unrelated dust cloud in the interstellar medium through which the stars are currently passing. Begum Parveen Sultana ( as, বেগম পাৰৱীন চুলতানা; born May 1950) is an Indian Hindustani classical singer of the Patiala Gharana. She was awarded the Padma Shri in 1976 and the Padma Bhushan in 2014 by the Government of India and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award by the Sangeet Natak Akademi in 1998. The 'Parvin' mango is a named commercial mango cultivar that originated in Southwest Florida. History The original tree was reportedly grown from a Haden mango seed, and was planted in 1940 on the property of Clint Fisk Parvin in Bradenton, Florida. During the 1940s Parvin was submitted for evaluation to the Variety Committee of the Florida Mango Forum, which gave it a positive recommendation. Characteristics such as color, production and handling characteristics (due to its thick skin), and flavor made Parvin a potential commercial cultivar. While Parvin only saw limited commercial plantings in Florida, it is grown on a commercial basis in Puerto Rico. Description The fruit are oval to oblong in shape and have a rounded apex, lacking a beak. The skin is thick and the color is yellow with red or crimson blush covering much of it at maturity. Parvin State Park is a state park located in the southwestern part of New Jersey. Situated around Parvin Lake on the edge of the Pine Barrens, the park includes pine forests, hardwood forests, and swamps. The park is located near Pittsgrove Township in Salem County, and is operated and maintained by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry. Parvin Bridge
The Parvin Bridge is a covered bridge located in Lane County, Oregon, U.S. near Dexter. It was built in 1921 as a single-lane bridge across Lost Creek, a tributary of the Middle Fork Willamette River. The bridge was a replacement for a Howe truss design which failed a 1917 inspection by bridge inspector J. W. McArthur. He wrote, "An old bridge. Chords badly worm eaten. Downstream chord has been reinforced in middle by a timber bolted on. Wood is but little better than a powder from worm action. All signs indicate a new bridge in from 2 to 4 years." George W. Breeding constructed the present bridge at the same site in 1921 for $3,617, equivalent to $ today. It is also a Howe truss and includes a eastern approach and a western approach. Ali Parvin ( fa, علی پروين ; born 25 September 1946) is a retired Iranian football player and coach. He is regarded as one of the most prominent Iranian footballers. During his career, he has been associated mainly with Persepolis, played for the team for eighteen years, managed the club for seventeen years in three occasions and was also the club's president.
