Parvathipuram is a Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Caste reserved constituency in Parvathipuram Manyam district of Andhra Pradesh that elects representatives to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in India. It is one of the seven assembly segments of the Araku Lok Sabha constituency. Alajangi Jogarao is the current Member of Legislative Assembly (India), MLA of the constituency, having won the 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from YSR Congress Party. As of 2019, there are a total of 182,333 electors in the constituency. The constituency was established in 1951, as per the ''Delimitation Orders (1951)''. 1955 Andhra State Legislative Assembly Election
Elections to the Andhra State Legislative Assembly were held on 11 February 1955. 581 candidates contested for the 167 constituencies in the Assembly. There were 29 two-member constituencies and 138 single-member constituencies. The members of the first assembly (1955–62) were allowed a seven-year term. The United Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election of 2009 took place in April 2009, concurrently with the 2009 Indian general election.
