Partytime!
"Partytime!" is a special promotional release by pop singer Gloria Estefan. Released in 1998, "Partytime!" was sold only in Target Corporation department stores as a form of promotion for the ''Gloria!'' album. A complementary Spanish-language remix single, ''Bailando!'', was released at the same time, again sold only at Target. There is only one track on the release: "The Party Time Megamix", a 22-minute megamix of nine of Gloria's biggest hits up to that point, including a few with Miami Sound Machine. The megamix is an amalgamation of ''Megamix'' (1992) and '' Gloria's Hitmix'' (1998). Several of the included songs were remixed in a House or Techno style. ''Gloria!'' is the eighth studio album released by Cuban-American singer-songwriter Gloria Estefan, released on June 2, 1998, by Epic Records. Background ''Gloria!'' is a dance and house album which was a departure from Estefan's previous works. Though dance elements had been featured in previous recordings, this was her first album to consist entirely of upbeat club music. The project initially began as a remix album before being expanded to an entirely new record. The album spawned four singles and one promotional single. "Turn the Beat Around" is a disco song written by Gerald Jackson and Peter Jackson, and performed by American actress and singer Vicki Sue Robinson in 1976 (see 1976 in music), originally appearing on her debut album, '' Never Gonna Let You Go'' (1976). "Everlasting Love" is a song written by Buzz Cason and Mac Gayden, originally a 1967 hit for Robert Knight and since remade numerous times, most successfully by Love Affair, as well as Town Criers, Carl Carlton, Sandra Cretu, and Gloria Estefan.
