"Part Three into Paper Walls" is a song by Australian pop singer Russell Morris. It was co-written by Morris and Johnny Young and produced by Ian "Molly" Meldrum. It was released as a double A-sided single, with "The Girl That I Love", in July 1969 and peaked at number one on the Australian ''Go-Set'' chart for four weeks. Morris became the first Australian artist to achieve consecutive number-ones with their first two singles. The single was certified Gold in Australia and was the 12th highest selling single of 1969. Background Russell Morris had released his debut solo single, "The Real Thing" in March 1969. Russell Norman Morris (born 31 July 1948) is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist who had five Australian Top 10 singles during the late 1960s and early 1970s. On 1 July 2008, the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) recognised Morris' status when he was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. "The Real Thing" was added to the National Film and Sound Archive's Sounds of Australia registry in 2013. Career 1966–1968: Beginnings and 'Somebody's Image' Morris' career started in September 1966, when Morris was 18 years old with the formation of the Melbourne group Somebody's Image, together with Kevin Thomas (rhythm guitar), Phillip Raphael (lead guitar), Eric Cairns (drums) and Les Allan (aka "Les Gough") (bass guitar). Edward Charles Nimmervoll (21 September 1947 – 10 October 2014) was an Australian music journalist, author and historian. He worked on rock and pop magazines ''Go-Set'' (1966–1974) and ''Juke Magazine'' (1975–92) both as a journalist and as an editor. From 2000, Nimmervoll was editor of HowlSpace, a website detailing Australian rock/pop music history, providing artist profiles, news and video interviews. He was an author of books on the same subject and co-authored books with musicians including Brian Cadd (early history of Australian rock) and Renée Geyer (her autobiography). St Leonards is a suburb on the lower North Shore of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Armstrong Studios, also known as Bill Armstrong's Studio and later renamed AAV (Armstrong Audio Video), is an Australian commercial recording studio located in Melbourne, Victoria. During the decade from 1965 to 1975, Armstrong Studios in South Melbourne was arguably the top independent recording studio in Australasia. History The founder Founder Bill Armstrong was born in Melbourne in 1929. After studying electrical engineering at Caulfield Technical College he started his career as an engineer at radio station 3UZ from 1954–56, where his work included disc cutting of radio shows and live-to-air orchestral music broadcasts.
