Parry County, New South Wales
Parry County is one of the 141 Cadastral divisions of New South Wales. It is bounded by the Peel River and Cockburn River on the north, near Tamworth. The Moonbi Range is on the eastern boundary, and the Peel Range on the western boundary. The Great Dividing Range is the boundary to the south-east. It includes the towns of Dungowan, Ogunbil, Woolomin, Loomberah, Piallamore and Nundle. Parry County was named in honour of Sir William Edward Parry, Commissioner for the Australian Agricultural Company, who selected the area within the county which was granted to what was then called the Peel River Company. Callaghan ( ) is a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia from Newcastle's central business district. Calala, New South Wales
Calala is a suburb of the Northern New South Wales city of Tamworth, administered by Tamworth Regional Council. In the 2016 census, Calala had a population of 3,927. The suburb is 4.5 km southeast of the CBD of Tamworth and is connected to the city by Calala Lane, which continues through the suburb to form its main street. Calala Lane often becomes flooded in times of heavy rain, usually isolating the residents from the rest of the city but generally only for several hours at a time. Further along Calala Lane past the residential area of Calala is Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School and the New South Wales Department of Agriculture plant research institute. Local government is the third level of government in Australia, administered with limited autonomy under the states and territories, and in turn beneath the federal government. The Australian Agricultural Company (AACo) () is a public-listed Australian company that, as at 2018, owned and operated feedlots and farms covering around of land in Queensland and the Northern Territory, roughly one percent of Australia's land mass. As of July 2008 AACo had a staff of 500 and operated 24 cattle stations and two feedlots, consisting of over 565,000 beef cattle. Founding of the company The inquiry into the colony of New South Wales conducted by John Bigge from 1819 to 1823 recommended that large grants of land be given to "men of real capital" who would utilise significant levels of convict labour to maintain these estates.
