Parramatta Citadel Band
The Salvation Army, Parramatta (often abbreviated to ''PSA'') is a Salvation Army Corps located in the suburb of Parramatta, New South Wales, Australia. It is the 75th oldest active Salvation Army Corps in Australia. Situated in the western suburbs of Sydney, it has survived two arson attacks , been led by some of the most prominent Australian Salvation Army officers of the modern era, and has actively ministered to the people of Parramatta and the surrounding regions since 1884. History The Salvation Army's ministry in Parramatta started in September 1884, at the corner of Church and Argyle Streets. In 1919, the first permanent church building was opened in George Street, opposite the Roxy Theatre. Sydney Congress Hall is a Salvation Army Corps situated in the Sydney's central business district. It is a local expression of The Salvation Army, an international movement which is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Meetings Sydney Congress Hall holds three Christian worship services throughout the week - two on Sunday and one on Wednesday. Each service includes Bible readings, music, preaching, prayer and sharing. Music Music has always played a significant role in the life of Sydney Congress Hall. A soldier is a Salvationist who is at least 14 years of age and has, with the approval of The Salvation Army Pastoral Care Council in each local Salvation Army corps (formerly called the Census Board), been enrolled as a warrior in the Christian denomination called The Salvation Army – after signing the ''Soldier's Covenant'' (see ''Salvation Army Articles of War''). The soldier expresses his or her commitment in every area of life, but more specifically through the ministry and work of a local Salvation Army corps. Brass Instrument
A brass instrument is a musical instrument that produces sound by sympathetic vibration of air in a tubular resonator in sympathy with the vibration of the player's lips. Brass instruments are also called labrosones or labrophones, from Latin and Greek elements meaning 'lip' and 'sound'. There are several factors involved in producing different pitches on a brass instrument. Slides, valves, crooks (though they are rarely used today), or keys are used to change vibratory length of tubing, thus changing the available harmonic series, while the player's embouchure, lip tension and air flow serve to select the specific harmonic produced from the available series.
