Parkwood, Western Australia
Parkwood is a southeastern suburb of Perth, the capital city of Western Australia. Its local government area is the City of Canning. History Parkwood was first settled by Henry Willett of Willett & Co, who was granted Canning Location 21 on the Canning River (which included nearby Lynwood) and settled in the area in June 1832. In November 1964, the Shire of Canning proposed the names "Burtsdale" and "Willetton" for Willetton and Lynwood/Parkwood respectively, the name Burtsdale honouring Septimus Burt, who purchased the land in 1882. In August 1965, developers at Lynwood requested the name "Clovercrest Estate", but finally agreed to "Lynwood". The name Willetton was shifted westwards and Lynwood was gazetted in December 1965. Parkwood became its own suburb in 1993 and Lynwood still exist north of High Road. Parkwood High School
Parkwood High School is located in Monroe, North Carolina, USA. It opened in August 1961. It is part of the Union County Public Schools district. It is adjacent to Parkwood Middle School with feeder elementary schools Prospect Elementary School, Waxhaw Elementary School, and Western Union Elementary School. The principal is Tracy Strickland. Parkwood Estate
The Parkwood Estate, located in Oshawa, Ontario, was the residence of Samuel McLaughlin (founder of General Motors of Canada) and was home to the McLaughlin family from 1917 until 1972. The residence was designed by Darling and Pearson, a noted Toronto architectural firm, with construction starting in 1916. In 1989, Parkwood was officially designated a National Historic Site, and tours are now given year-round. House Parkwood's architectural, landscape and interior designs are based on those of the 1920s and 1930s. The national Historic Sites and Monuments Board describes it as “a rare surviving example of the type of estate developed in Canada during the inter-war years, and is rarer still by its essentially intact condition, furnished and run to illustrate as it was lived within.” Parkwood was the family home of the McLaughlins from 1917 until 1972. University Degree Program (UDP) is or was an unaccredited consortium of diploma mills run by Americans Jason and Caroline Abraham (of Brooklyn, New York; also known by their Hebrew names Yaakov and Chaya Rochel) beginning in the 1990s. In 2004, ''The Chronicle of Higher Education'' called UDP the "granddaddy" of diploma mill operations. Operations The Chronicle of Higher Education reported that the University Degree Program recruited "students" over the telephone from call centers in Romania (where the call center also sold fake international driver's licenses) and Israel. Telephone salespeople, who were paid on commission and received performance-based bonuses, could offer degrees in any field requested. Parkwood is a neighborhood located in the Far Northeast section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Parkwood is a neighborhood on the western side of Decatur, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. Although a small portion of the neighborhood was always within the city limits of Decatur, the remainder of the Parkwood neighborhood was voluntarily annexed into the City of Decatur effective July 1, 2014. The neighborhood is bounded by Ponce de Leon Avenue to the north; East Lake Road to the south; the CSX railroad tracks to the west; and Melrose Avenue and the Adair Park community to the east.
