Parklife Music Festival
Parklife Music Festival was an Australian music festival held between 2000-2013 in city parks around Australia in September/October. History Until 2012, Parklife was one of Australia's longest running and most popular music festivals. Starting in 2000, Parklife was known for its diverse, eclectic and ground-breaking line-ups, bringing live acts and dj's to Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth. Headline acts played in every city but the number of stages would vary from 3-5, depending on the city. The last Parklife Festival was in 2013, when Promoters Fuzzy announced they were retiring the brand. Organisers announced a new touring event called Listen Out (festival), a national "intelligent dance event" which toured Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane. Benga (musician)
Adegbenga Adejumo (born 1986), known as Benga, is a British musician from Croydon, known for being a pioneer of dubstep record production. He has been featured on a variety of compilations including Mary Anne Hobbs's '' Warrior Dubz'', Tempa's ''The Roots of Dubstep'' and the BBC Radio 1Xtra anniversary mix. Career Adejumo is of Yoruba Nigerian descent. Inspired by UK garage producer Wookie, Benga would produce tunes on a PlayStation, and subsequently FruityLoops. As a teenager he would visit the Big Apple record shop in Croydon where he was introduced to Skream, and together they would help forge the sound of dubstep emerging in the early 2000s. His productions caught the attention of DJ Hatcha, who worked at the shop, and, by the age of 15, Benga had made his first record, "Skank", released on Big Apple's own record label in 2002. Harley Edward Streten (born 5 November 1991), known professionally as Flume, is an Australian DJ and music producer. He is regarded as a pioneer of future bass who helped popularise the genre. His self-titled debut studio album, ''Flume'', was released in 2012 to positive reviews, topping the ARIA Albums Chart and reaching double-platinum accreditation in Australia. Flume has remixed songs from such artists as Lorde, Sam Smith, Arcade Fire, Hermitude and Disclosure. His second studio album, ''Skin'', was released in 2016, again topping the ARIA Albums Chart. Lee Foss is an American-born producer and DJ from Chicago, Illinois, United States. In addition to a number of releases on labels such as Culprit, Wolf+Lamb and No. 19, he co-founded the dance music label Hot Creations and is a member of the house music band Hot Natured alongside Jamie Jones, Ali Love and Luca C. His music is inspired by the musical heritage of Chicago and his influences include classic house, R&B, 90s Hip Hop, 1980s electro and Detroit techno. Hermitude
Hermitude is an Australian electronic- hip hop duo, originating from the Blue Mountains, New South Wales. Biography Early years and ''Explanetary'' Multi-instrumentalists, Luke Dubber (a.k.a. Luke Dubs) and Angus Stuart (a.k.a. El Gusto), have collaborated in bands since 1994, when they were aged 16 and 11, respectively. Their first functional band was called "Funk Injections" and included Stuart's sister, Aja Stuart, on bass. When a group of local rappers, including Tim Levinson (a.k.a. Parachute Youth
Parachute Youth was the musical project of Mathew KVon and Johnny Castro (John Courtidis), a duo originating from Australia in December 2011. Their music is indie house, and their labels include Sweat It Out, Warner Music, and Ultra Music. Their first track, ''Can't Get Better Than This'', was released on 28 January 2012 in Australia, and charted in Belgium. In 2013 they moved to London to continue their career.
