Parker Thompson (born 2 March 1998) is a Canadian race car driver from Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. Career Early career Thompson began racing at the age of eight, competing in the Calgary Kart Racing Club a short distance from his family residence in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada. From the local club, Thompson graduated to the global ranks of karting. In 2012 he finished 3rd in the junior category of the Rotax World Karting Finals in Portimao, Portugal. In 2013 he joined the World Series of Karting with team Energy Corse where he earned eight top five finishes, four podium finishes, five Superpole sessions, two Superpole wins and a final win. 2023 IMSA SportsCar Championship
The 2023 IMSA SportsCar Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship) is the 53rd racing season sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association, which traces its lineage back to the 1971 IMSA GT Championship. It is also the tenth season of the IMSA SportsCar Championship since the merger between the American Le Mans Series and the Rolex Sports Car Series in 2014, and the eighth under the sponsorship of WeatherTech. The 2023 season marks an overhaul season for the championship, with a change in class structure and a new race on the season calendar at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The championship began with the 24 Hours of Daytona on January 28 and is scheduled to conclude with the Petit Le Mans on October 14 after 11 races. 2018 Pro Mazda Championship
The 2018 Pro Mazda Championship was the 20th season in series history. It was the final season using the Pro Mazda name, as the series was re-branded as "Indy Pro 2000" for the 2019 season. A 16-race schedule was announced on 17 October 2017. This was the first season to use the new Tatuus PM-18 chassis and Mazda MZR piston engine. All prior engine packages for the series included a Mazda Wankel engine.
