Parker Bugg
Parker Brent Bugg (born October 26, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He is currently a phantom ballplayer, having spent two days on the Miami Marlins’ active roster without appearing in a game. Amateur career Bugg played high school baseball at Rancho Bernardo High School and college baseball for the LSU Tigers. Professional career Miami Marlins Bugg was first drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 34th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball Draft out of high school, but he did not sign with Baltimore. Three years later, he was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the 27th round 2016 Major League Baseball Draft and signed. Save (baseball)
In baseball, a save (abbreviated SV or S) is credited to a pitcher who finishes a game for the winning team under certain prescribed circumstances. Most commonly a pitcher earns a save by entering in the ninth inning of a game in which his team is winning by three or fewer runs and finishing the game by pitching one inning without losing the lead. The number of saves or percentage of save opportunities successfully converted are oft-cited statistics of relief pitchers, particularly those in the closer role. The save statistic was created by journalist Jerome Holtzman in 1959 to "measure the effectiveness of relief pitchers" and was adopted as an official Major League Baseball (MLB) statistic in 1969. The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball (ALPB) is a professional independent baseball league based in the United States. It is an official MLB Partner League based in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States. The Atlantic League's corporate headquarters is located at Clipper Magazine Stadium in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Cole Young Sulser (born March 12, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2019. He has also played for the Baltimore Orioles and Miami Marlins. Amateur career Sulser graduated from Ramona High School in Ramona, California, in 2008, where he played baseball all four years. Undrafted out of high school, he attended Dartmouth College. Designated for assignment (DFA) is a contractual term used in Major League Baseball (MLB). A player who is designated for assignment is immediately removed from the team's 40-man roster, after which the team must within seven days, return the player to the 40-man roster, place the player on waivers, trade the player, release the player, or outright the player from the 40-man roster into Minor League Baseball. Bullpen
In baseball, the bullpen (or simply the pen) is the area where relief pitchers warm up before entering a game. A team's roster of relief pitchers is also metonymically referred to as "the bullpen". These pitchers usually wait in the bullpen if they have not yet played in a game, rather than in the dugout with the rest of the team. The starting pitcher also makes their final pregame warm-up throws in the bullpen. Managers can call coaches in the bullpen on an in-house telephone from the dugout to tell a certain pitcher to begin their warm-up tosses. Each team generally has its own bullpen consisting of two pitching rubbers and plates at regulation distance from each other.
