Paris Red Peppers
The Paris Red Peppers Minor League Baseball team played in the East Texas League in 1946 and the Big State League In 1947. The Peppers were based in the United States city of Paris, Texas, and were affiliated with the St. Louis Browns of the American League. Frank Sacka, Bob Prichard, Pat McLaughlin and Homer Peel played for the team in 1946. Peel also managed the club. Eddie Carnett, Frank Carswell and Jim Walkup were with the team in 1947. James Elton Walkup (December 14, 1909 – February 7, 1997), was a professional baseball player who played pitcher in the Major Leagues from – for the Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Browns. Lloyd Rigby
Lloyd Joseph Rigby (born 27 February 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. Club career Rigby came through Rochdale's youth system, signing a one-year contract in 2007. He was loaned out to Conference North club Vauxhall Motors in January 2008. He made his debut in their 2–0 defeat away at Redditch United. After a successful loan period with Vauxhall, Rigby signed a permanent deal with the club at the end of the 2007–08 season, before being taken on trial by League One club Stockport County and eventually signing a permanent contract. He made his debut on 1 September for Stockport in their 4–1 away victory over Crewe Alexandra in the Football League Trophy. Frank Carswell
Frank Willis Carswell (November 6, 1919 – October 16, 1998) was an American third baseman, first baseman, outfielder, manager and scout in professional baseball. Although he played only 16 Major League Baseball games in his career, for the 1953 Detroit Tigers, Carswell was one of the top minor league hitters of the post-World War II era. Born in Palestine, Texas, Carswell attended Rice University. He threw and batted right-handed, stood tall and weighed . He signed with the Tigers in 1941, and batted .338 in 275 at bats for the Jamestown Falcons of the Class D Pennsylvania–Ontario–New York League (PONY League). But the U.S. entered World War II after that season, and Carswell lost four years while serving in the United States Marine Corps.
