Parilla, South Australia
__NOTOC__ Parilla is a town and a locality in the Australian state of South Australia located in the state's Murray Mallee region about east of the state capital of Adelaide, about west of the municipal seat of Pinnaroo and about east of the town of Lameroo. The government town of Parilla was proclaimed on 1 August 1907 on land in the cadastral unit of the Hundred of Parilla to the immediate north of the Parilla Railway Station. The town was named after the hundred. The boundaries for the locality were created on 12 August 1999 and includes the site of the government town of Karte which is located in its approximate centre. The 2016 Australian census which was conducted in August 2016 reports that Parilla had a population of 211. The town's mascots are "Alf and Edith the Galah and Echidna", which can be found on the signs entering Parilla. There is an active Church, and payphone. Parilla (motorcycle Manufacturer)
Parilla was an Italian motorcycle manufacturing company. It was founded in 1946 by Giovanni Parrilla, who dropped an 'R' in his name for the company title. He began by designing, building and racing a 248cc single cylinder, ohc motorcycle, which he modified to take a dohc. After this, he produced a variety of road bikes with; 98cc, 125cc and 250cc engines. In 1952 motorcycle designer Soncini was appointed and improved the range of motorcycles available. It is the parent company of the "Parilla", "Komet" and "Sirio" brand names and is the largest kart engines manufacturer. Its factory is located in the province of Bergamo, Italy, near the city of Milan. Yellow Parilla
''Menispermum canadense'', the Canadian moonseed, common moonseed, or yellow parilla, is a flowering plant in the family Menispermaceae, native to eastern North America, from southern Canada south to northern Florida, and from the Atlantic coast west to Manitoba and Texas. It occurs in thickets, moist woods, and the banks of streams. Description It is a woody climbing vine growing to tall. The leaves are palmately lobed, in diameter with 3–7 shallow lobes, occasionally rounded and unlobed. The fruit are produced in diameter clusters of purple-black berries, each berry is 1–1.5 cm in diameter. The seed inside the berry resembles a crescent moon, and is responsible for the common name. The fruit is ripe between September and October, the same general time frame in which wild grapes are ripe. Jennifer Parilla
Jennifer Parilla (born January 9, 1981) is an American trampolinist who was born in Newport Beach, California. She was the first and only American to qualify to the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney as a trampolinist when the sport debuted; and finished in 9th place. She competed for the US at the 2004 Athens Summer Olympics. She was on the national team for eleven years from 1993 to 2004; her favorite event was trampoline but she also competed successfully on the double mini. She was the National Champion in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2003, and 2004 on the trampoline, and on the double mini in 1998 and 1999. She earned national titles in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, and 1998 in synchronized trampoline, bringing her total national title count to twelve. She was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2010. Personal life Jennifer's hometown is Lake Forest, California but she now resides in Newport Beach.
