''Pariah'' () is a 2024 Bengali language action thriller film directed and written by Tathagata Mukherjee. It stars Vikram Chatterjee in the lead role and the movie is around raising a voice against the injustice done to the stray animals. This flim was OTT released 12 July 2024 on Hoichoi. ''Pariah'' is a name collectively given to the Pye-dog. This film was released on 9 February 2024. A sequel named "Pariah Volume 2: Rise of Kalbhairav" has been announced, which is set to release in 2025. Synopsis The plot revolves around the injustice done to the stray animals and a reclusive but short - tempered man with no name. A powerful mafia racket supply the street dogs to North East India from Kolkata. He fights against the inhuman treatment provided to the stray dogs. In order to fight for their lives, he kills the kingpin and a butcher of the gang and ends up confronting a huge dog trafficking racket. Tathagata Mukherjee
Tathagata Mukherjee (born 15 May 1985) is a Kolkata-based Indian actor and independent filmmaker. He is best known for his acting in several Bengali soap operas. Early life Tathagata Mukherjee was born on May 15th, 1985, in Kolkata, India. During his childhood, he did a three years long ''yatra'' with a Bengali drag artist Chapal Bhaduri. He went to high school at the Baranagore Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama High School. Later, he studied drama at Rabindra Bharati University. He has done professional theatre since 2005.
