Parapaar
''Parapaar'' ( bn, পারাপার ) is a 2014 film directed by Sanjoy Nag is based on the Moti Nandy novel. A convict, Rudra (Ahmed Rubel), who returns home to his wife ( Rituparna Sengupta) and two kids after serving a 14-year jail term. He comes back to find his home-maker wife transformed into a woman who had grown stronger over the years while fending for herself and her kids. The film also stars Paoli Dam and Bratya Basu. A 'tribute promo' was launched on 31 August 2014 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Rituparno Ghosh. Sanjoy Nag (born 18 March) is a film director/actor. He won the National Film Award in 2011 for his debut feature film ''Memories in March''. Early life and background Sanjoy Nag was born and brought up in Kolkata. He completed his schooling from St James’ School. He pursued commerce from University of Calcutta. Ahmed Reza Rubel (born 1965) is a Bangladeshi theatre, movie and television actor. He started his career in Selim Al Deen's theatre group "Dhaka Theatre". Later he concentrated into mainstream commercial movies and starred in 6 movies. Then he left the film industry to work in tele-dramas. Career Rubel started his career working for "Dhaka Theatre", a theatre group of Selim Al Deen. Then he moved to act in commercial Bengali movies. Ezazul Islam, known by his stage name as Dr. Ezaz, is a Bangladeshi physician and actor who appears in Bangladeshi television shows and films. Paoli Dam (born 1980) is an Indian actress who started her career with the Bengali television serial ''Jibon Niye Khela'' (2003). She then worked in Bengali television serials such as ''Tithir Atithi'' and ''Sonar Harin''; the former ran for six years on ETV Bangla. Dam spent her childhood in Kolkata, earning a postgraduate degree in chemistry from Rajabazar Science College. Initially, she wanted to become a chemical researcher or a pilot. Moti Nandi; 10 July 1931 – 3 January 2010) was a Bengali writer and journalist. Career Moti Nandi was from Kolkata. He graduated from the University of Calcutta and became a sports journalist and worked as a sports editor in ''Anandabazar Patrika''. He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement award (2008) at a ceremony to mark the grand finale of the maiden edition of the Excellence in Journalism Awards. Rituparna Sengupta is an Indian actress and producer who is known for her work in Bengali cinema and Hindi cinema. Rituparno Ghosh
Rituparno Ghosh (31 August 1963 – 30 May 2013) was an Indian film director, actor, writer and lyricist. After pursuing a degree in economics, he started his career as a creative artist at an advertising agency. He received recognition for his second feature film ''Unishe April'' which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. Having won 19 National Awards, along with his contemporaries Aparna Sen and Goutam Ghose, Rituparno heralded contemporary Cinema of West Bengal, Bengali cinema to greater heights. Ghosh died on 30 May 2013 in Kolkata after a heart attack. Ghosh was also one of the openly homosexual personalities in Indian cinema.
